Cécile Smits Having to drink to be ok with having sex like that is never ok,and adding the fear of being dumped if she doesn’t allow him to do what he wants? A BIG NO!!🤯
Great review,Isabella!💞

Jenny Lovez Bookz I haven't seen a 1star review from you! Must've been bad 😬

Lisa the book CREEP I trust your review 👀 and bummer that it was thay bad. I hope you recover and love the next book you pick 🥰

message 4: by Chris (new)

Chris It must be quite bad, I think so far I haven't read a negative review by u! Now I'm really curious about how bad it is!

PeaceOfGod

message 6: by Claire (new)

Claire Oh wow, I usually like this author's work but all the reviews on this one have been so ominous!

message 7: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Cecile, this book did not read well. I love that this author is extreme, but being bullied to have sex pisses me off!

message 8: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Jenny, you are right. I never 1 star but I was really angry devoting 4 hours of my life to this 😕

message 9: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Lisa, I honestly felt relieved when it was over! 😳

message 10: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Chris, I saw that you're reading it. I hope it's just me and you end up being okay with it 💙

message 11: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @PeaceofGod that's actually really lovely. Thank you 💖

message 12: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Claire, they really are and I was dying to see what it was all about. I don't mind crazy if there is a romance involved. Unfortunately it was 90% abuse. It's just not what I choose to read 🤷

message 13: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Chris, it stays like that the entire book. I needed a turn of events. It's not a love story.

message 14: by Claire (new)

Claire Isabella. R wrote: "@Claire, they really are and I was dying to see what it was all about. I don't mind crazy if there is a romance involved. Unfortunately it was 90% abuse. message 15: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Claire, maybe grab a sample and judge for yourself. You might feel differently 😁

message 16: by Anne (new)

Anne E ♡ emo + OTT Hs what a manipulative creep this H is!

message 17: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Anne, it's the issue that he had no redeemable qualities. Complete prick!

message 18: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth 1 star...holy shit

message 19: by Rain (new)

Rain I've never seen you one-star a book. It sounds awful!! Thanks for reading it so I don't have to

message 20: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Elizabeth, devastated actually. I just wanted it to end.

message 21: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Rain, if only we would have BR this. You would have had to give me online counselling or whiskey's...

message 22: by Chris (new)

Chris Isabella. R wrote: "@Chris, it stays like that the entire book. I needed a turn of events. It's not a love story."

I just finished part one, starting part two. I just lost count on how many bottles of Champaign the heroine drinks to be able to be with the hero....

message 23: by Cassandra (new)

Cassandra This was absolutely the vibe I got from this book so I'm glad I didn't read. I love Jade West too but pretty sure this one isn't for me.

Thanks for taking one for the team.

Great review too.

@Chris, I know right? At least it's the good stuff 🍾🍾
Things get a whole lot interesting in the second half!

@Cassandra, I hope Im not the reason you won't try it. It's just normally the author gives you a balance. Not in this instance, I couldn't take it.

message 26: by Becky (new)

Becky Isabella the hea is for the couple or the heroine?
I’m curious because I like jade’s erotic but sometimes her heroines accept unacceptable things.
It looks like she was his victim instead of his lover

❤️Emma Book Lover ❤️ Great review!!
Ugh.. this is a hard pass😒

message 28: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Rebeka, there is a HEA for the heroine. There is a twist in the second part of the book that I won't spoil just in case you choose to read it.

message 29: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Emma, you'll need a strong stomach for this one. Thank you. I need an element of sweetness in my stories.

message 30: by Chris (new)

Chris So I'm halfway through and it becomes boring... same $@%@ different day... and add another bottle...

message 31: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Chris, there needed to be a shift in their relationship by that point. And unfortunately she never enjoyed what he was having her do.

message 32: by Chris (new)

Chris Isabella. R wrote: "@Chris, there needed to be a shift in their relationship by that point. And unfortunately she never enjoyed what he was having her do."

I'm not sure if I'll finish it... it becomes somewhat boring...
Most likely it will end up being one more book in my "reading pile"

message 33: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Chris, and I would completely understand 😕

message 34: by Rain (new)

Rain Isabella. R wrote: "@Rain, if only we would have BR this. You would have had to give me online counselling or whiskey's..."

🤣 I'd lord, I doubt I would have even finished it! You get all the awards for pushing through

Mia.Mi.Jou (on hiatus) I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw 1 star from you... and for a jade west book. so sorry it was such a disappointment! the hours spent reading it will not come back to you, but hopefully you find some amazing book that makes you forget fast...

message 36: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline I get what you mean. Usually there’s affection in the kink, no matter how crazy things get with this author but the alcohol and him persistently calling her a bitch felt abusive to me. Not what I was hoping for, I didn’t like this one either.

message 37: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Mia, it's really not me. I dislike writing these kinds of reviews. To me it wasn't a romance so reading the whole book to figure that out was really annoying! Thank you 😘

message 38: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Jacqueline, yes yes! Exactly. So apart from hating the dynamics, to not get a love story really shocked me as well.

message 39: by Chris (new)

Chris I finished it... the ending was crappy....

message 40: by Claudia (new)

Claudia LaRocca I'm still reading this one and I am starting part 2 now but I left a current review of what I've read so far and want to know if anyone else has picked up on the parallels of the kinks that were in her earlier books. Only now they are laced with shame.

message 41: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Chris, the ending felt glossed over to try and provide a HEA. There was no real lead up to how it played out. You did good finishing it 😊

message 42: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Claudia, you make a valid point. In Dirty Bad Strangers they embraced who they were so all the kinks were just them. I couldn't wrap my feelings around all the shame in this book and why they were doing it.

message 43: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Lee I love Jade West as well but I had a feeling this one wasn't gonna be for me and your review solidified that.

message 44: by Claudia (new)

Claudia LaRocca Exactly, even the sex toy stretching that was featured in so many of her other works takes on a sense of awful manipulation. It really seems to negate all the good feelings about being free to be kinky because you question if it was real.

message 45: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Kendra, I am disappointed for you! I'm a huge fan as well. I'm just surprised with the path she went with this one.

message 46: by Isabella. R (new)

Isabella. R @Claudia, I would have been okay had the heroine had come to her senses sooner and then the lead up for the HEA kicked in. All the sexual proclivities were forced even though she lied about it being okay.

message 47: by benevolent (new)

benevolent bastard Skipping! Omg. I’m sorry you had to read this ):

@BB it was bad. You know what I'm like but I was upset the entire time. Thank you x

message 49: by Thirstygirl (new)

Thirstygirl Now I'm low-key curious. Perhaps I need a good hate-read. I just need to know, is it going to scar me for life???

message 50: by D.L. (new)

D.L. Howe Man, I will say this shocks me because it’s you. But I started this and made myself stop because it all felt so fake. I figured it stemmed from the fact that I’m in a strange for me Hallmark phase. And this one started with too much sex, no realistic emotions and I knew it wasn’t for me right now. But after reading this I’m considering it may not be for me period. Thanks for taking one for the team.
