Hey Kaytlin! Thanks for your review. I know it’s kind of a taboo thing for author’s to respond on here, but I wanted to address what you said in the final paragraph for other readers who might be concerned as well.

I definitely understand the concern here. I’d like to clarify that people only become “unredeemable” after continuous use of blood wards and final inward resolve to never repent. This is meant to symbolize continuous, deliberate, and UNREPENTANT rebellion to God and how this path leads us away from God and into death.

There is a “rehabilitation” process discussed in book 1, but that only works if the defector is repentant and their heart hasn’t been hardened to the point of never being willing to turn back to El-Alam and His ways.

Please rest assured that this topic will be further addressed in future books and the Wardens’ beliefs about redemption will also be tested. They are operating on limited knowledge, due to the novelty of Blood Wards. There will be redemption for some blood wardens, but only those who are repentant.

I’m sorry I didn’t write it more clearly in the story. It’s hard when I’m trying to hold some info for later books in a five book series and am limited to my character’s POVs. ❤️

Also, regarding the concern about the info revealed at the end… I can’t say much because of spoilers, but just know that Empyreal Guardians are meant to be completely fictional, and do not represent biblical angels, demons, or even Christ or Satan (as some readers guess). They are purely fantasy and everything to do with them is not meant to be taken in any other way.

That said, I respect each person’s discretion and if it makes you uncomfortable, feel free to put the series down. No hard feelings ❤️
