Michael Garber Are you writing a psychological thriller? Or have you already published one?

This thread is for writers in the genre to introduce themselves, share their work, and connect with others.

Feel free to:
– Share your book or work-in-progress
– Talk about the themes you write about
– Or just say hello as a writer who loves psychological fiction

Let’s support each other and discover new voices!

Richard I may have introduced myself in the general thread, but I thought I'd say Hi here too.

I didn’t write my book to be consumed and forgotten — I wrote it to spark conversations people usually avoid.

About identity.
About money.
About the pressure to perform a life that looks successful but feels empty.

If you enjoy books that linger in your mind and make you question where your own head is at, Disconnected might be for you.

Ethan Merritt Hi everyone — thanks for opening this space for writers.

I write psychological fiction that leans more toward observation, moral tension, and interior conflict than action or spectacle. I’m especially interested in stories where the danger comes from perception itself — from seeing, understanding, or knowing too much — and from crossing internal boundaries rather than external ones.

I recently published my first novel, What You Couldn’t Hide: The Eyes Always Know. It’s structured around interconnected stories revealed through therapy sessions and explores obsession, forbidden insight, and the cost of entering other people’s inner lives.

I’m looking forward to connecting with others who are drawn to quieter, character-driven psychological suspense and to learning how you approach tension, voice, and ambiguity in your work.

Lucy Kaufman Good to meet you, everyone! I write what I would call classic psychological suspense/ dark tales of the unexpected with a modern twist, calling on current cultural phenomena and what we now understand about mental health and personality disorders. They tend to centre women.

My first short ebook Don't Forget the Crazy was published in November and my Victorian gothic novella The Heart-Shaped Box (Book 1 of Carousel of Curiosities) is being released as an ebook and paperback on 27th January (now available for pre-order) and audiobook in February. I'm currently writing the sequel as well as another story. I have written in all kinds of genres before but have recently embraced the psychological thriller writer in me and feel very comfortable (and permanently excited!) in this genre.

Ethan Merritt Welcome, Lucy — it’s great to see more voices exploring psychological suspense through a modern lens. Wishing you the very best with your upcoming release and the projects you have in progress.
