Press Heart to Join was accepted for a pilot program through Apple Books wherein it compiles and spits out an AI voiced audiobook in a couple months. Mine dropped last night. I'm impressed from a technological standpoint, but I personally found the reading a bit slow paced (especially for a comedy.) I'm being told, other than a few weird inflections where it's obviously read by a robot, it's pretty typical. I don't listen to audiobooks, so I'd love anyone's opinion who has time to listen to the sample.https://books.apple.com/us/audiobook/...

I'm impressed from a t..."Eric, I listened to some of the sample. I think for a screen reader/AI, it sounds fine. I read ebooks daily using the Alexa screen reader due to eyestrain and it sounds comparable.
Fwiw, I think most people change the speed on audiobooks to suit their personal preference anyway. I usually listen to mine at 2x speed, which drives my husband bananas. :)

It was tricky one to explain to my cover designer because it's kind of counter-intuitive. The background needed to be prominent, while the central figure disappears into the background making him difficult to see properly.
