Looking forward to your opinion on this one. I was a fan, but several years ago swore off reading him. Seemed like the gratuitous violence was over the top, just too dark for me -which is saying something. Maybe, he’s moved away from that? …Hope so.

No problem with violence unless it seems gratuitous and over done. Liked Nesbo in the past… his dark side is evident in most of his writings. Think I’ll pass going forward. Thanks for the review!

Thought this was a good standalone from Nesbo. Wouldn't consider the violence extreme by his standards. I gave it three stars and would rate it a gritty, enjoyable murder mystery.
