July - December 2025

Thank you to Hannah G. for coming up with this creative challenge!

Rules:
1. Tasks may be read in any order.
2. You may play as many rounds as you like. Simply let me know if/when you need a new link in the participants’ list. As of August 13, each round must be read to completion before a new round may be begun. If you had multiple rounds begun before this date, you must finish all previously begun rounds before starting one (1) new round.
3. There is no need to repost this challenge if you post along the way.

The Tea Party:
1. Invite a friend to tea: Read one book about friendship OR with friends on the cover (example: Ladies of the Lake)
2. Heat water in a teapot: Read a book with a teapot on the cover OR spell out TEAPOT in author names
3. Select your favorite teacup: Read a book with a teacup on the cover OR spell out TEACUP in titles (use or ignore articles, as needed)
4. Choose your favorite type of tea: Spell out your favorite type of tea in titles OR author names (examples of tea types: Jasmine, Peppermint, Rooibos, Black, Green)

Q&A:
Q. May we use any title word in the titles spell-out?
A. No. Only the first word's initials may be used. Articles a, an, or the may be used or ignored. For example, You'll Think of Me may only be used for Y, but The All-American may be used for T or A.

Q. If the author's name starts with an initial (or multiple), do we have to use them, or can it be just the last name?
A. You may use the author's first or last initial for the spell-outs. Middle initials do NOT count.

Q. Can a book be used twice, once for the title and once for the author and/or the tea spell?
A. Each book may only be used once.

Only the first word's initial counts (unless you skip the articles a, an, or the; using them is optional). So you could use The All-American for T or A, but You'll Think of Me only works for Y.

Andrea Cox Everyone, please note that there is further clarification of the rules about playing multiple rounds, beginning today. I didn't realize it wasn't clearly understood that "a round" in a game must be completed before moving on to a new round. Sorry about that!

2. You may play as many rounds as you like. Simply let me know if/when you need a new link in the participants’ list. As of August 13, each round must be read to completion before a new round may be begun. If you had multiple rounds begun before this date, you must finish all previously begun rounds before starting one (1) new round.
