Excellent review. So glad to read it. I seem to have ended up an Edmund-defender these days. Great to see I'm not alone. His two last works got bombed by critics, but all I saw was this gay men persisting until the end. On and on he went. No one could stop him. Not even his publisher. So thanks for this.

Right and the sly old fox knew that. In the Humble Lover he seems to enjoy ignoring current mores. Bad boy til the end.
