Wendy wrote: "Bahaha I hated this book but I got a feeling you hated it more 😱 just post the review I’m dying 😂😂"
LoL. Don’t die, here you go. Can we forget this book ever happened? :)
You dropped your crown and your mic! 🎤👑 Amazing review beautiful! I knew your ability to express your thoughts is nothing short of amazing but I think this is the first time I’ve ever read such a negative review and I’m sayin it as a compliment! Putain Jadore! I’m clapping I swear 😱😂❣️❣️
Amazing review Debbie!!!!! I’m sorry to hear this was such a let down especially coming from an author you obviously appreciate but what I appreciate here more is your brutal honesty and I hope your next book will make up for this one. Take a bow!
Terrific. Simply terrific! I have nothing but respect and admiration for you for speaking your truth Debbie no matter how much you like Me. King and I agree no one should ever preach and force their world views on others. Super! 💙💙

Merci, Wendy! :)🖤 I appreciate that. Funny how we both hated it so much, huh? Oh well, onwards.
Jørn wrote: "Gagged? Thats a bit harsh don’t you think?"
If you’re referring to how it felt like, then yes, it was harsh. I mean… have you ever gagged? Not a fun feeling. I figured it’d only be fair to share it with the rest of the class. Questions?
That sucks! Talk about a way to ruin a book eh? Sounds like Stephen King has nailed it! Incredible review Debbie!!!
Jake wrote: "Dang. Brilliant review Debbie! You have a way with words. I think I’ll skip this one"
Thank you, Jake. Well, a lot of people liked it, so maybe you’ll be one of them. Me? I loathed every second.
Amazing review Debbie!! I’m sorry this was a disappointment but I love how honest you are with your words and I wow the closing lines of this review are brilliant! ❤️❤️
Opinionated and articulated as always. This was a pleasure to read Debbie. Fantastic review! I don’t know what Stephen King was thinking but I hope his next book will be much better.
That’s always a possibility but something tells me I should thank you for saving me some time with this!
I adore your way with words Debbie, brilliant as always 💘I’m so sorry this was a disappointment, completely agree with your points. Hard pass on this one from me, usually a King fan.
Fantastic review, Debbie. I agree with what you said about Holly in this one. I didn't like the part when she was wishing harm to come to one of the characters that didn't have the same views as her on Covid. Sadly, this was something that I saw a lot of in real life. It was such a bad time, such a lot of division. I wasn't ready to relive it all in fiction. It was definitely too prominent in this book and distracted from the main story. Hopefully we will both enjoy his next book!
Excellent review! And I agree with you. If any other author had written this book, I would have given it 1 star.
Twerking wrote: "That simile you pulled. Lol, the one about the festering half empty bottle of juice. Very effective. You're way posher than me, I guess I'd have come up with a different simile...maybe something cl..."
I actually had something else on mind, but since I already gagged, I preferred not to inflict that reaction on others by stating some bodily fluids which can be very much resembled to juice. I trust that your sick imagination (in a good way, that is), can figure out the rest. If not, I’ll give you a private lesson all about it later. No gags will be in sight. :)
Oh man, sorry Debbie, this was such a horrible rad for you. Yeah it's very controversial, and a thick book too, so kudos for finishing to you!
Now go get some fresh juice 🖤🥤
Wahahaha I’m pissing myself! This is brilliantly written Debbie and I’m sorry you had to go through this bullshit! Gonna buy you a cup of coffee to wash that nasty taste off!
Jake wrote: "That’s always a possibility but something tells me I should thank you for saving me some time with this!"
Lol. You’re welcome. :)
Helga wrote: "Excellent review! And I agree with you. If any other author had written this book, I would have given it 1 star."
Thank you, Helga! Well, I love SK, but I can’t let sentiments be in my way, hence the 1 star :)
Rebecca wrote: "Fantastic review, Debbie. I agree with what you said about Holly in this one. I didn't like the part when she was wishing harm to come to one of the characters that didn't have the same views as he..."
Thank you, Rebecca. I think it’s kinda funny that Stephen King has managed to create a division similar to the one we experienced during Covid with this book. I hope his next book will be… different. :)
Anna wrote: "Debbie you fucking savage this is one of your best reviews yet! 😂😂 Honest to the bone! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥"
LoL, I thought I was pretty gentle here, actually :)🖤 thank you, Anna.
If the book caused such a reaction you could’ve stopped reading it in any given moment so why didn’t you?
Your creativity never ceases to amaze me! Excellent review Debbie. I know King is well known for his political stand and outspoken about it but I never thought he’d bo overboard with it in his books.
Jørn wrote: "If the book caused such a reaction you could’ve stopped reading it in any given moment so why didn’t you?"
True. I hope this will satisfy your growing curiosity: because I wanted to, and I do what I want. If I was to mark it as “DNF” and write a review, you’d probably be here, telling me I shouldn’t be doing it either because I didn’t finish the book. I know your kind. Or maybe you think people should consult you before their decision making? Take your sense of entitlement else where.
I was getting that feeling from the description and some parts of his last book were very political. I think I’ll skip this one.
Fucking phenomenal! It’s on my to read list but wait let me change that. No way I’m hell I’m reading this shit
Esta wrote: "I adore your way with words Debbie, brilliant as always 💘I’m so sorry this was a disappointment, completely agree with your points. Hard pass on this one from me, usually a King fan."
Thank you kindly, Esta! :)🖤 A lot of people liked it, so who knows? I chose to find out myself by reading it, but if all the above doesn’t sound appealing to you, I’d say save your time for something better.
This is the best 1 star review I've read for this book. You explained exactly how I felt, but calmly and clearly. I ranted. Maybe I should consider an edit.
I too hate it when people shove their political views down my throat, whether I agree with them or not.
inciminci wrote: "Oh man, sorry Debbie, this was such a horrible rad for you. Yeah it's very controversial, and a thick book too, so kudos for finishing to you!

Ah, thank you, Inci, It was such a drag! I like controversy usually, it can deliver food for thought, and that’s why I got even more curious about reading it. But this was pure crap imo, and I needed something stronger than juice to wash it off, LoL. 🍻🖤

I really appreciate that, Stacey, thank you! Trust me when I say that I ranted out loud while reading it. I just tend to be more cold with my words when they’re being written rather than spoken out loud. I’ve read your review and I think it’s great as is - raw and honest. You can never go wrong there. :)
Ben wrote: "That sucks! Talk about a way to ruin a book eh? Sounds like Stephen King has nailed it! Incredible review Debbie!!!"
Lol! He sure did. Hopefully next time he’ll nail a good horror instead, but at this point, I honestly don’t expect anything, thank you, Ben!
Nate wrote: "I was getting that feeling from the description and some parts of his last book were very political. I think I’ll skip this one."
It was indeed. In an excessive, preachy and exhausting kind of way, in my opinion.
