fr I literally had to put down the book and stare at the wall lmao (the only reason I didn’t dnf it was because it was an arc 😭 like the main romantic scene in it was then filming a tiktok dance together 💀)
BRO I WOULD TWEAK ISTG!! “oh let’s hit the renegade real quick then we can netflix and chill!!” get the freak away from me and respectfully i’m gonna throw the book
also @vyn you’re speaking straight facts bb holy cow,the spelling error one is SOOO real bc tell me why i’m getting MAJOR and i mean HUGE MAJOR spelling issues???
also another one i have is when books will advertise themselves as like “the new hunger games!!” or “the new: how to kill a mockingbird!!”
imho that’s just setting you as an author up for failure and ppl comparing the books and the chance that the new authors book actually sucks dookie, ppl will be like: “this book was so bad i can’t believe it was even compared to #####” yk what i mean???

yesss and then sometimes they’ll compare it to another book but it’s actually just pure plagiarism of that book 😭
too much pop culture references. the use of the word “cunt” to describe a vagina (actually an instant dnf). gay male best friend for the fmc for the sake of forced diversity.

people giving away books that are literally unreadable.
i was at my local bookstore/thrift (i suppose you can call it) and the amount of water damage pages, covers half ripped off, water smudging annotated parts. like yes it’s also the managements fault, like why do they want to make such a quick buck that they try to sell that??
