I have to admit, I struggled to get past the first fifty pages. The writing is good, but a little too purple at times for my taste. The introductions of too many characters seemed to drag, and with the purple prose, I felt I was missing the thread of the story altogether. I wanted to like this book, but made it only to pg 90 before throwing in the towel. The 'revenge' theme is something I don't enjoy reading. Everyone was nasty, selfish, hiding secrets, and up to no good all around. This is my opinion only, and based on the other stellar reviews, doesn't count for much. Ryan is a good writer, but this story wasn't for me.
