I was just diagnosed less than a month ago and everything is still a shock. I too am alone with no family. It’s always difficult for me to hear about everybody’s supportive husbands.
Sophia...the truth is we aren’t alone, however the journey MS takes us on is as individual as we are. Over time I have discovered there are people who love me and help in ways I never imagined. Five years in and my MS has progressed and as of yet no medication has proved successful in slowing the progression down. Send me an IM if you would like to chat.
It’s so scary how different MS is for each person. Sophia I pray that you find a support system. And Kristina I pray that you find a medication that helps you.
Thank you Emerald May. Looks like Tecfidera is going down. Next up Ocrevus...yay. Hopefully this will be the one to slow down this monster of a disease.

Loved this book. the honesty and humour really helped me to change my mindset about my diagnosis. I thought I was being a martyr with my attitude to continue working despite the physical limitations but the authors experiences were reassuring. Hope other readers find support. I did through shift-ms - A great forum
I haven't read it yet. I also have MS and am 77. I was diagnosed at 50. 27 years later later it's not a that funny. Yes, there have been moments, but I'd be happy to lose this burden. It should be an interesting read.
