I'm sorry that John didn't like it, but that's his choice of course. However, to say "I'd rather he write... etc" is a little strange isn't it? Do we tell authors what we want them to write about then? The book is clearly described as an account of a move between islands, so one ought to have some idea of what to expect.
I would also add, that to entitle the review 'A boring Comparison of UK vs Greek of Governmental Taxation' is to suggest that he maybe didn't read all of it anyway, since references to taxation amount to a very, very small proportion of the narrative. Sorry John, but I'm only commenting on the impression your title and comments give me.
