I am stunned, and intrigued . . . I have so many questions that I am going to have to read this for myself Fran. 💖📚
This is one of those on the list that I will get to one of these days. I'm happy to see your [generous] 5 Stars.
Wonderful review Fran. And yes, truly thought revoking.
I wanted to read "In the Distance" but forgot about it as I never put in on my list.

THanks, Lisa. It really is an amazing, complex book. (Yes, that's one reason I so rarely give 5 stars; I want that rating to really mean something.). :)

Thanks, Stacey. Oh, sigh, that TBR list... Do you know anyone who has read every book on her/his list?
Fran, I just finished reading this and found your review enlightening. Thank you for referencing Wharton. Not my preferred writing style—it’s like the writer was paid by the adjective! Far be it for me to demean a Pulitzer winner—whether Wharton or Diaz. So thanks for the “inside baseball.” Also, fascinating to learn you are a novelist.
Thank you, Laurie. (Hmm, paid by the adjective... I'll have to re-read Wharton! That's not my usual style, either. Adjectives should be used precisely, vividly, and rarely.) And thanks for your interest in me as a novelist. If this isn't too self-promoting, please check out my newest: "Her Daughter."
