This request does not involve the adding of new books/new editions to the Goodreads database, so it is in the wrong folder. Please move your topic to the correct folder Book & Author Page Issues by clicking the edit button next to the topic's title and picking the target folder from the pulldown list (only available for desktop/laptop, not in the app).
1) Book moved to your author profile2) You can either add your books BEFORE they're auto-imported from Amazon (preferably by using the "* Note: these are all the books on Goodreads for this author. To add more, click here." link located under the list of your books on your author profile) or you can change your author name on Amazon to reflect the one on Goodreads (using two spaces between the name and the surname) so the auto-imported books would go directly to your GR profile.
Thank you, Martina! I hadn't even noticed the extra space in my Goodreads name (it doesn't belong there!). I just tried to change it on Goodreads to the normal one space, but got a message saying only librarians can "edit book and author data". Is this something you can fix for me, changing the two spaces to one space? Or can you direct me to where I can ask for it to be fixed?
Unfortunately it does belong there. We use the extra space to differentiate between authors that publish under the same name and author profile with only one space already belongs to another Opal Andrews.
This shouldn't be changed.
You can of course ask the support to move you to the default profile (the one with only one space) considering the other Opal did not claim her profile yet, but I do not recommend it - that way every single book written by Opal Andrews (no matter if it would be you or any other Opal) would be linked to you, which would be as bothersome as it is not having your books linked to you now.

1) Can someone please fix this so that my book is associated with the correct author?
2) Is there a way to prevent this happening for future books?
