Fergus, Weaver of Autistic Webs Thank you, Roger. Very good indeed. And your take on biographical fiction is excellent.

Kalliope Very interesting review, since this very issue I have been recently discussing with other GR friends in reference to one work not listed in your review... The Master

Jim Puskas I understand that problem you describe, that of being "told what he is thinking, we seldom get to feel it for ourselves". I experienced that with Nicholson's "Winter". I wanted to get back to just reading Hardy's own words. Just now starting "The Last Man in Europe" I hope it doesn't also turn out that way.

Leo Anthony A thoughtful review. Interestingly, I found Galgut's Arctic Winter a bit tedious and contrived. Perhaps he has access to personal memoirs and diary entries that I was unaware of. I have enjoyed his other works though.
