I really enjoy the few things I've read from Jasper Bark. I'l be keeping an eye out for your thoughts on this.

Thanks! I've read about 3-4 books from him, and enjoyed them all. No two were the same. He's got a good vampire story in HOTEL MACABRE VOLUME TWO that just came out.
Michael, thanks for the kind words so far and I'm very pleased you've picked up on the imagery and the repeated eye motif. I don't think the author's perspective on anything is definitive, it's just another opinion. With that in mind, I had always imagined Kyra's name being pronounced as 'K-EYE-rah'. Hope that helps.
