I bought "Her Whole Bright Life" and "lemon" quite come time ago, directly from the poets, when both of them were featured readers together at a venue near me (I didn't know them personally, but since the venue was nearby and I was familiar with the venue from other readings and I think I was familiar with one of their names, I attended the reading). The reading was great, so I bought each of their books, but didn't start reading them until very recently (like last week).
I'm a slow reader and tend to be reading multiple books at once in phases, so I haven't gotten very far yet with "Her Whole Bright Life" so might say a bit more about that one after I read a little more of it. I've read a little more of "lemon" and am loving that one so far.
Another poetry book I semi-recently started reading and am enjoying is "Super Cherry Extra" by Misti Rainwater-Lites, who I've been aware of for years (and have some other books by her), but saw her read live for the first time ever this past November, at a reading that I was involved with too, and we traded books.
I'd say I've acquired a decent amount of poetry chapbooks and books over the years from poetry readings, small press events, and trades.
