Happy reading Yun. ♥
Brilliant review, Yun! I keep hearing the same things regarding the book’s twists and how they can come across as unreasonable. It’s such a shame because it seems like a book with great potential. Hope your next read is better! ☺️
I felt the same way, Yun. So, glad I am not the only outlier here! Thank you for your amazing review! 😌
Twists do need to make sense and be at least a bit realistic in the fictional realm of the story for them to work properly. Shame there were too many characters too, that clearly didn’t help the story. Fair and honest review, Yun.
Great review, Yun! I felt the same about the twist. It came out of nowhere and had me shaking my head.

Thanks, Melissa! Haha I'm such a grouch. 😅 But yeah, if you don't love twists for the sake of twists, you can safely skip this one. :)

I'm sorry you encountered so many issues with this one. Love your last paragraph which puts everything in perspective. Beautiful review Yun.
Sorry it disappointed though your points about both quantity and lack of relatable characters is valid as are those about the twists. While mystery isn't at the top of my list, twists that come from left field and when least expected are in my opinion what mystery is about
I have to have a reality check in the contemporary set fiction I read, so I feel your criticisms Yun, thanks for sharing them :)

Thanks, Jonathan! I'm not a fan of random twists. 😕

Thanks, Lisa! Phew, glad it's not just me!
Agreed, here! The twists felt less like twists and more like information that was just being withheld from the reader. I’m not saying I should be able to guess the twists in a book, but for them to feel like they have payoff they have to be tied to the narrative in some better way than just “everyone was lying”
Yun...Great review! The interplay of twists and turns sounds like they didn't quite work...glad you somewhat worked enjoyed it!🤗💕📚

Right? Glad it's not just me! Also (view spoiler) lol.

Thanks, Fran! ❤️ I did get some enjoyment out of it, so I can't complain too much! 😅
I felt the same way about this book. It tried to be twisty, but failed to deliver the thrills. I had a good time with her debut, First Lie Wins, I thought it was a solid thriller. Hoping her next book will come around.
I honestly never comment on reviews but I just finished this literally minutes ago and RAN to GR to look to see if you or any of my other fave reviewers had similar thoughts. I'm so relieved lol this is 10000000% how I feel about what I just read. In my head I'm pointing at you with fingerguns like that Spiderman clone GIF.
It’s so disappointing when you feel like a favourite author hasn’t quite it the mark! Great critique Yun
I hate to say it, but I was not a fan of First Lie Wins by this author, so I knew I probably wouldn’t like this book. Sorry this book was a bit of a disappointment for you. Terrific review, Yun!!
