Robert Roberts Hey sports fans, what's your favorite sports and teams?

message 2: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts For me I like NFL football, especially the KC Chiefs and the KC Royals. Don't care for soccer, rugby, golf or the olympics.

message 3: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts I’ve never watched the Olympics because they are rigged and a lot of the contestants use performance enhancing drugs.
Watched maybe 15 minutes of Basketball, super boring. Raise the basket up another five feet and it might be a sport.

message 4: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts When our own Olympic athletes disrespected our flag I was done with it, even though I didn’t watch anyway.

message 5: by Angie (new)

Angie DeSerano Denver Broncos, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Flyers, and of course the IOWA HAWKEYES!! Go Hawks!!

message 6: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts Ruth you may not know this, a lot of NFL fans don’t. Since I’m older than the hills I remember.

The team originally played as the Dallas Texans as part of the American Football League from 1960 to 1962. In 1963, owner Lamar Hunt moved the team to Kansas City and the team was renamed the Chiefs.

message 7: by Sophia (new)

Sophia Smither No time for sports; too busy reading.
;-)

message 8: by Geraldine (new)

Geraldine Sports competitions are just really boring to me. The only thing I watch is Ohio State football because of my husband being into it.

message 9: by Geraldine (new)

Geraldine Sure Ruth thanks for trying

Susan Robert wrote: "Hey sports fans, what's your favorite sports and teams?"

I went to the University of Texas, so hook 'em horns! My husband is a UofM, MSU, and Seahawks fan, so we go to a UofM football game yearly with a group of friends. I like football, baseball (go Tigers!), and basketball in person, but I don't watch on TV. I'm too kind hearted to enjoy hockey much. :-D

message 11: by Susan (new)

Susan Ruth wrote: "The Olympics are the worst. Absolutely the worst. Second worst was starting women’s pro basketball. Hahahaha"

I think I'd love seeing the Olympics in person if I had a good seat (especially track) but on TV they drag everything out so long and try to make everything so dramatic. It's annoyed. I love women's pro basketball!

message 12: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts Great football player, but I think him and his brother grew up spoiled brats, and Taylor too probably!

message 13: by Kellie (new)

Kellie I love football. My favorite team is San Francisco 49'ers and KC Chiefs. I love Hockey. My team is the NJ Devils. I also love Soccer. That's probably because my Godson/Nephew plays it. Not professionally. Also watch Nascar. My husband loves it and I've gotten into it. I'm not a real big basketball fan.

message 14: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts NFL football kicks off tonight on NBC. KC Chiefs vs Baltimore Ravens. Go Chiefs!

message 15: by Luz (new)

Luz I’ll have to admit I’m not a sports fan.

message 16: by Geraldine (new)

Geraldine I’m looking forward to college football, In particular, Ohio state—my husband and I always watch it, and dress up for it too!

message 17: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda Geraldine wrote: "I’m looking forward to college football, In particular, Ohio state—my husband and I always watch it, and dress up for it too!"

Little late to the conversation; like you I am looking forward to football season too. We are Longhorn fans and Dallas Cowboy fans!

message 18: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn I grew up in Columbus Ohio!! I live in Washington state now, mostly at my second home on Anderson Island. I love the Buffalo Bills since I was born in Buffalo NY. Karen Slaughter is my favorite author. I also enjoy biographies.

message 19: by Kellie (new)

Kellie My 49'ers have had a sketchy start too. But I still believe.

message 20: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn My Buffalo Bills need to get going and win some games. I was born in Buffalo NY so I sure do still believe.

message 21: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda Ruth wrote: "Well my Cowboys have had a sketchy start. Sigh. But I still believe."

Agree, they need to wake up! They seem to come out strong but after half time fall asleep.

message 22: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda Hey y'all anyone here from Texas watching the Texas/OU game today?

message 23: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts How is it possible that anyone with an ounce of common sense, can agree that biological males should be allowed to compete in women’s sports!

message 24: by MaryJo (new)

MaryJo Dawson Robert wrote: "How is it possible that anyone with an ounce of common sense, can agree that biological males should be allowed to compete in women’s sports!"

That blows my mind too.

message 25: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts Going to a Superbowl party Sunday. All Chiefs fans and we will be making our own pizzas and lots of beer!

message 26: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts Ruth you should have made the cheesecake two weeks ago unrefrigerated. It would have turned green naturally! Hahaha

message 27: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts Okay then two drops of green food coloring and lime zest on top.

message 28: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts If the Chiefs win tonight Kansas City will simply celebrate. If the Eagles win or lose Philadelphia will riot. What’s the matter with the City of Brotherly Love?

message 29: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts National Anthem was a little different, but it’s in Louisiana and a different world. It was fine.

message 30: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts Chiefs need to go to the locker room at half time and not come back out. Just call it a night!

message 31: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts Ruth I think this is called a cluster ****!

message 32: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts It’s the half time show, so grab your genitals! Why do performers have to be do disgusting!

message 33: by MaryJo (new)

MaryJo Dawson We aren't watching but have family who are. What a shock that the Chiefs haven't even scored by half time!

message 34: by Kellie (new)

Kellie Robert wrote: "Going to a Superbowl party Sunday. All Chiefs fans and we will be making our own pizzas and lots of beer!"

That must have been cool.

message 35: by Kellie (new)

Kellie I have no idea what was up with the Chiefs. It was like they gave up the fight.

message 36: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts Watching the opening football season between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. No matter what the outcome the Cowboy fans will be humble and the Eagle fans will riot and tear up their city as usual. The city of freedom is filled with gutter trash.

message 37: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts If I owned the Eagles not only would he not play the rest of the year I would trade him. I wouldn't care how good he is, he wouldn't play on my team.

message 38: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts Ruth I hope that my Kansas City Chief's don't ruin your Thanksgiving when we come to Dallas and destroy your Cowboys on turkey day! Lol

message 39: by Ruth (new)

Ruth ROFL. I almost canceled thanksgiving this year. Bahaha. We took the dirty birds down yesterday. I refused to let anyone come over yesterday because of game. My husband told me I’ve taken this too far. I don’t think I’ve taken it far enough. lol. Yall better watch out. We are a team to fear now. Bahahaha.

message 40: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Bhear I'm not a sports person. I'll put a movie in or find a book to read.

message 41: by Ruth (new)

Ruth Football is something that I would say rates equal to books. It’s an entire 12 months for me. From the drafting to training camps to preseason and all the way to the Super Bowl. Ha. I follow every single NFL team. lol.

message 42: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts The World Cup of soccer coming to the U.S next year is a really big deal. For me I find the sport as boring as golf, tennis and basketball. I’ve tried watching it but I just can’t get into it.

message 43: by Ruth (new)

Ruth I know they are grown men, but soccer looks like little boys running around kicking a ball. But to get the World Cup here, it will generate a lot of money.

message 44: by Ruth (new)

Ruth Well it looks like the Chiefs are moving to Kansas. They have a perfectly good stadium. Why they want the public to build a new stadium and the cost of taxpayers is cringy. And yes, I was against the Cowboys having a new stadium at cost to taxpayers. Luckily, it didn’t affect my taxes. And Jerry Jones paid for most of it. I’m a huge football fan, but I think the cost of tickets an food and drinks at stadiums are too high to begin with. Not sure other stadiums, but a coke at ATT stadium is about $10. A pizza is roughly $60. Hahaha. Just really high prices. Nachos…$28 dollars. Sheesh. So, building a new stadium should be at owners expense.

message 45: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts Well I’m shocked that the citizens of Seattle didn’t riot and burn their city to the ground, because they won the Super Bowl.

message 46: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Bhear Did you see the ice dancing. They were all amazing! I just cringe when they have their partners stand on their legs. 1 wrong move & those skates could slice open their leg! It's scary to even think about it. But, I guess most sports are dangerous in some way. There was an intervue with Snoop Dog. He's been trying different things. He said "I look good in that bobsled, But I'm never going down that hill." I have to agree with him on that!

message 47: by Ruth (new)

Ruth I’m obsessed with ice dancing in the Olympics.

message 48: by Robert (new)

Robert Roberts If any Olympics are held outside the U.S the judges are corrupt and a lot of the athletes are using enhanced drugs. Don’t watch em.

message 49: by Randall (new)

Randall Moore I exercise at a local gym that has an array of widescreen monitors displaying whatever people are interested in.
I find women’s figure skating to be the most compelling of the events shown. It’s poetry in motion, even the lesser skilled skaters.

message 50: by Ruth (new)

Ruth I agree Randall. And I very seldom care what the score is…I just think it’s is peaceful to watch.
