I fully agree, this book really affects you in unexpected new ways, it's one of those mammoths that gave me reviewer's block and I still can't put my finger on it. You've written a splendid review, as usual, thank you for sharing.

Marvelous review of a book that has been on my mind quite often for the past few years! Absolutely loved it (the book) and I can relate to a lot of the things you point at. I understood it as a tragic, hilarious, ironic and deeply ambivalent attempt at trying to come to terms with modernity.
