I was interested enough that I went to Smashwords and went through the hassle of registering and then discovered I must find and download an app to then download to my Kindle. Gave up. Then discovered I can download your first book for free on Amazon which I did. Anybody interested?
I'm a member of this group and I also write as Victoria Prescott.I publish on Kindle only, and my books are available on KU.
Amazon US: https://www.amazon.com/Victoria-Presc...
Amazon UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Victoria-Pre...
I write mysteries set in England, either historical or contemporary/historical.
I don't know if you'd call them cosy - no cupcakes - but they're definitely towards the cosy end of the spectrum. There are deaths, but I don't do graphic violence and no-one is tortured.
Thanks for reading this far!
So good to see this group re-ignited, just as I'm re-igniting my detective duo who solve mysteries in Durham in the north of England.I've just re-launched The Cricketer's Corpse and I'm expecting to launch their second story, The Kidney Killer, later this year.
If you wanna try out The Cricketer's Corpse , it is set in March, over an eight day period from 22nd, and you could read each day as it happens! There's no need to do that, but it's kinda fun.
I should mention, the bodyfind on the first page is a little bit bloody, but the rest of the book settles down and is very much cozy!
Hello,I published my first book last two months and I would be lying if I say I'm not happy to be part of Goodreads.

A traditional-style English whodunnit with a hard edge. Carelingham Hall has a grim past. Now it plays host to a nest of vipers, the greed-driven offspring of the late, great Sir Duncan Andrews. They find themselves mixed up in a modern-day country house mystery, within which high-tech criminality and low-tech cunning, vicious class warfare and savagely satirical wit, all play their part. At the heart of it all is an innocent outsider, Casey Maloney, whose thirty-second birthday is the beginning of a nightmare that only she can resolve. Foolishly underestimated by all around her, she is a woman with a secret that the killer will dread …

Hello everyone - I'm a crime/mystery author with four novels to date that are set in the 1960s in Sussex. You can read more about me and my books on my website: https://isabellamuir.com/ My Janie Juke trilogy features a young librarian, turned amateur sleuth, who has a passion for Agatha Christie books - specifically Poirot. The first in that series is currently on offer at £0.99p http://mybook.to/TheTapestryBag My latest novel introduces a retired Italian detective, who travels to England to escape one tragic death, only to come face to face with another. http://viewbook.at/CrossingtheLine
So if you love English mysteries - with Agatha Christie style twists and turns - and a continental flavour - then these stories could just tick all the boxes!
The Case of the Canterfell CodicilMy English manor-house, locked-room murder mystery written in the style of an homage to PG Wodehouse will be released on the 30th of October.
Until then, a limited number of ARCs are available and I’d be very grateful for the views of the English Mystery Club.
A sharp beta-reader provided this blurb:
Anty Boisjoly's old Oxford coxswain is facing the gallows, accused of the murder of his wealthy uncle. Can Boisjoly solve not one but two locked-room mysteries to save his old chum? Only if it also involves a love triangle and a secret bequest, both of which will take all of Boisjoly's charm and cunning to unravel.
Join Wodehousian gadabout Boisjoly as he takes on his first case, pitting his wits and witticisms against a subversive butler, a single-minded detective, and an irascible goat. Will he manage to outmaneuver them all before his friend ends up on the gallows?
ARCs of The Case of the Canterfell Codicil can be obtained from booksprout at

or by messaging me on Goodreads.
Thanks for reading, whatever you read.
I foreshadowed this back in March in an earlier comment, but my new detective novel, set in Durham in the north of England, is The Kidney Killer and will be published on 5th November. As a treat for my newsletter subscribers, I've offered them a free download of a late draft of the ebook, and I'm pleased to offer that to members of this group too. You can access the download here
UPDATE (1st Nov 2020): the free download has now expired. From here on, you'll have to buy the book!
Two things I ask in return - don't share this link widely, it's a gift because you're interested enough in this group to see this post. And secondly, if you could post a review (or at least a rating) either here on goodreads, or on Amazon, or both, that'd be a fantastic help.
If you fancy signing up to my newsletter (there's a free paperback giveaway every month in 2020) then head to mileshudson.com and enter your details in the popup that appears.
This is my first novel, a story of a female detective during the first world war. I have made it free to download this weekend on amazon kindle in the hope that someone could review it.The Girl from Whitfield Hall

Hello AllI am a Goodreads author with a May published English mystery and coming of age story, titled The Five Things. I hail from southern England, and the novel is set in coastal 1960s England.
The publisher is American!
Thanks for taking a look.
Beth Merwood
Welcome, Beth! Congratulations on the publication of your book! I will check it out if you'll take a look at mine, "In the Churchyard Spilled," which is the first in a series. The fourth one comes out in August. Let's read each other's books and see what we think!
The Spy with an Angel’s Eyes: an Augustus Benedict Cold War spy novel.
New from Nine Lives Original Books, a riveting and unconventional British Cold War spy mystery …
A series of unexplained killings of British and Russian spies in and around Cold War London draws the CIA, the British intelligence services and the KGB into a dangerous blame game that could spin out of control at any moment. In order to get to the truth of what is going on the CIA recalls Jennifer Marquis, one of its top operatives, to London while the British lure Augustus Benedict into the investigation. Benedict had been their most formidable wartime intelligence officer before leaving the service to set up a private detective’s agency in Mayfair. He is also the former lover of Marquis. When the two are reunited in the race to find who is behind the killings, the sparks begin to fly in every sense of the word. Mixed in with everything else are the most dangerous men in the British criminal underworld and they are in no mood to take any prisoners. Not everyone who begins the investigation will live to see its end …
“The characters spring embodied from the page, even those with bit parts … and the turns of plot are satisfyingly unexpected.” A.B., a former book editor and previously of the Financial Times.
The book is available both as a paperback and as an e-book. The e-version is available exclusively on Amazon and can be found at:

on Amazon UK, or

Hi, I've just written a guide to British crime fiction, The Crime Fiction Tour of Britain
by Steve J Haywood. It covers classic, contemporary and historical crime/mystery fiction, with some children's and YA crime thrown in too :) It is available on Amazon Kindle store now, and is free to read if you've got Kindle Unlimited.
Amazon US - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09HR8KZ8V/...
Amazon UK - https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?i=digital-...
If anyone would like a free copy in exchange for an honest review on Goodreads and/or Amazon, let me know (and tell me what format you want it in).
I really see this as version 1 of the book - I'd like to do a new improved edition soon with more authors and books in - so do please let me know anything you think I've missed or should include, whether perhaps it is one of your favourite authors, or even if you are the author. I can't promise to include everything, but I'll include what I can.
Good luck with this Steve: it looks central to all our reading here!(I have my fingers crossed for all our writers :) )
Sounds like my cup of tea Steve, thanks! Already got it on my kindle. And good luck with more readers!
Thank you Michaela, hope you find it interesting. And thanks for the luck, I'll need it - getting readers and reviewers is the biggest challenge. I think/hope that lots of people will find the book interesting and should introduce them to new authors and books they'll enjoy, just have to get people to see it/try it first!

The Crime Fiction Tour of Britain
by Steve J Haywood, i.e. me, is now free on Kindle for the next 3 days.UK link - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09HR8KZ8V
US link - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09HR8KZ8V
Or just search for "The Crime Fiction Tour of Britain" on your own regional Amazon site.
Over 100 authors featured, it goes region by region looking at great crime fiction authors and series from the South Coast to the Shetland Isles at the top of Scotland and everywhere in between! It also has a section on historical crime fiction, from Ancient History, lots of medieval crime fiction as well as Victorian and 20th century. Also sections on Golden Age crime fiction as well as Children & Young Adult. It was a lot of fun to write, and I really hope people enjoy reading it and find lots of new author to try!
There's a paperback version that should be available any day now - that's not free alas, but I'm happy to send out a free copy in exchange for an honest review - let me know if you'd be interested (definitely in the UK, but should be able to do this wherever Amazon ship to).
What a fantastic opportunity! Thanks Steve I have downloaded it, and hope to comment when I have time to peruse it (I'm on a strict reading "ban" at the moment!)Good luck!
Thanks Jean, much appreciated, I look forward to hearing what you think at some point! Gosh, a reading ban sounds terrible, how come!?
LOL Steve - Don't worry - it's self-imposed ;) A drastic measure, until I finally get my "awaiting reviews" more under control.

Hi, I’m the author of the Kent Fisher murder mysteries, currently seven books, which are traditional murder mysteries in a contemporary setting. Having an environmental health officer as the investigator makes the novels distinctive, but they remain faithful to the classic whodunit. When No Accident, the first in the series, was published in 2016, Crime Fiction Lover said, ‘Expect sharp dialogue and irreverent humour in this whodunit, which manages to pay homage to the traditional murder mystery, while striking a contemporary and irreverent note.’
If you’ve ever wondered what an environmental health officer does, or how he goes about solving murders, please visit my website at https://robertcrouch.co.uk or take a look at No Accident.
I’m also working on a new novel, entitled Home Truths, which features failed crime writer, James Watson and his housekeeper and part time astrologer, Sheryl Holmes.
Heart of the Earth: A Fantastic Mythical Adventure of Courage and Hope, Bound by a Shared Destiny is a story set in and around an English country house. When Peter Goodhope returns home to his childhood village to write his book, he soon discovers the charming, once peaceful countryside he so fondly remembers, may be hiding something more maleficent.
Animals are disappearing from the countryside. An awful crime is being committed against the local wildlife. Are there supernatural forces at play? Can Peter track down the evildoers and save the animals from their darkest hour?

A timely allegorical novel.

Congratulations, Simon, & best wishes to you & the book!FYI, I clicked the book link, which goes to the Goodreads page, & then the "buy on Amazon" link there. That took me to a page with your book cover, but the headline:

by Louis Hoffmann (Author)
You might want to check with Breese Books about that....
