Who would believe that 75 years after nazis, Russia would bomb Kyiv. Yet, that's what's happening these very moments.. A very sad moment in modern history...

Under all reports, Ukrainians put up some serious fight. Even billionaires: https://edition.cnn.com/videos/world/...Ex-president of Ukraine, known as the chocolate 🍫 king
My heart goes out to the Ukrainian people. I agree with you, Nik, I am appalled by the lack of real action by NATO, the West, and the EU. I am also appalled by how the CNN coverage of this travesty is interrupted by commercials for hair loss supplements, cosmetic surgery, and wrinkle creams but I guess that is proof of the superficiality of American society.

These always go together with the Glory to Ukraine thing, just like 'Heil' went with 'Hitler'.
Or our 2MinHate won't be complete, duh.
You take care of your own "russian world" that people reject equally to nazi concentration camps and are ready to die just not to be part of it. Slava Ukraini!
As soon as the intel appeared that Belarus might join Russian attack of Ukraine, the legendary Belarus paratrooper vet advised his compatriots to stand down and not fight a war that is not theirs:https://youtu.be/qA5Y2VzVhiM
Thank you, Officer!
Thanks to McDonald's Ukraine & KFC for providing food to local administrations, hospitals and others
Nik wrote: "You take care of your own "russian world" that people reject equally to nazi concentration camps and are ready to die just not to be part of it. Slava Ukraini!" If this isn't a piece of propaganda, I dunno what is. What concentration camp, Nik? What people? What do they do? Who does what exactly? Why is the world mine? What does it include? Is Poland included? I want it, definitely. Do I get the dividends?
Do I dream all the expats who come to Russia to work? Not to mention all the Ukrainians who come to Russia to earn some money since Ukraine's economy hasn't been performing for, like, 35 years??
☘Misericordia☘ wrote: "....What concentration camp, Nik? ..."That's a very good question. Many ask how come ethnic Russian, Russian speaking dudes (30-40% of Ukraine) and entire cities fight stubbornly for Ukraine? I hope I can cast some light.
Ukraine is the only place of freedom among former Soviet republics, where people can freely express their opinion, where people are not afraid from the authority, where people change political elites by genuine elections. Ethnic Russians turned Ukrainian nationalists because of that. For them Russia and Putin's regime, which suppresses freedoms and eliminates dissidents and is like a concentration camp. Nobody wants it back, some remember it from Soviet times.
People of Crimea, captured by Russians in 2014, for example. Maybe many didn't feel really Ukrainians, but I doubt very much they would have voted to become part of Russia, were it not for elections under the barrels of the guns.
It might sound too lofty, but it really is a war of worldviews, of freedom defending against tyranny that's why it is so easy for the free world to side with Ukraine against aggressive, coercive and bloody approach.
English fought other English to gain independence in the States. North fought South for principles. It's somewhat similar here. Putin can say what he wants - that it's one people, duped by the West and all his bla, bla, but he's world is unwanted in Ukraine and probably amongst many in Russia.
Another interesting comparison would be between: Yanukovitch - a pro-Russian ex-president of Ukraine that ran away to Russia confronted by people's protest, while being backed by all the security forces, army and Russia's might in 2014. A huge and physically strong guy, who's done 2 times in prison in his much younger years. And we have now a current president of Ukraine - Zelensky - physically small guy, a brilliant comedian in the past, popular in both Ukraine and Russia, who actually lived in Moscow for some years, leading his nation in the fight against mighty Russia and turning down US and British proposals to evacuate him to stay with his people. His not confronted with protesters, but with one of the strongest armies in the world, or so it was thought.
The pretense of "clean" war is over. If until today, they mostly used precise weapons and hitting civilian buildings, infrastructure and civilians were rare enough to be considered random, today they bombard Kharkiv and its residential districts with grad missiles. Maybe they are out of precise ammunition or maybe they are growing desperate and impatient, but it is what it is and casualties among civilian population considerably grew...
As sports fan, my appreciation and respect go to the boxing heavyweight champion of the world Aleksandr Usyk and Loma for joining defense ranks, to legendary Dynamo Kyiv veterans, to Ukrainian manager Vernidub that asked his foreign team to let him go to return to Ukraine to help defend it - yeah, yeah that's the guy who's team made a sensation this year defeating Real and to many others...
And it certainly alleviates some grievance seeing broad support of Ukraine throughout the Western World. Special thanks to European friends for availing their Su and MiGs that Ukrainian pilots can fly immediately and replenish their air force .

Yes.
Would Putin unleash his nuclear arsenal in that event?
No. Putin is insane, but he is not suicidal. He relishes power and the good life.
His nuclear threat is just another Halloween boogey man used to frighten the pajama boys, Biden, Schloz, Macron and Johnson as well as the Western media into submission.
But the bloody Putin-Piglet knows that he can bluff the pansy boys and their media collaborators out of his game.
If NATO announced they were game in advance instead of pointedly stressing they would not engage, putin would've thought twice whether to attack. Growing cojones now? Maybe, but chances look slim. Support of Ukraine with weapons and ammunition is accelerating though. As of a nuclear option - if once it was an impossibility, looks like now it turns into a probability, although remote ...
I agree with you - having formidable military strength, but ever more recurrent unwillingness to use it projects weakness and emboldens opponents. As for putin- each new “success” will make him feel greater. If Ukraine falls, why not go further - one of his demands was removing bases from Poland & Romania and return of NATO to 1997 size
A couple days after the Ukrainian invasion, Russia was pressing Sweden for a yes or no response on whether it would join NATO. Imagine the shift in the balance of power in the Baltic if Russia begins threatening Sweden.
Russia is in a slow, but accelerating meltdown, its reserves are frozen, anything Russian becomes toxic, yet they act under a principle whatever couldn't be solved by force, can be solved by more force. Can't verify this, but the rumor is that putin is not in moscow hiding in a bunker in case his own people start to get funny ideas.. Wounded animal can me more dangerous..
I am among those hoping that one brave Russian within Putin’s circle, perhaps one who has lost a son, a brother, a father or a cousin in this Ukrainian invasion, will stamp out this little weasel and bring this atrocity to an end. That man will go down in history as a hero of all mankind.
After the Ukraine, is the Baltic next on Putin’s hit list? While Finland is openly discussing joining NATO to seek protection from a Putin invasion, Sweden’s Minster of Defense, Micael Bydén, announced today that his nation must raise its awareness of the real possibility of Russian aggression. Prime Minister Andersson will address that nation later this evening.
From Prime Minster Andersson’s address to the Swedish people a few minutes ago:.
The Russian invasion of the of the Ukraine is unprovoked, indefensible and illegal.
.
If Russia manages to establish its authority over the Ukraine, it will be able to intimidate many other countries.
.
Sweden does NOT find itself under a direct threat, but the possibility of an attack has increased.
.
The Swedish people have become a target for Russian propaganda and disinformation.
Before we are talking "next", I hope Ukraine is not a done a deal, although the situation is dangerous/critical.I certainly understand fears of russia's neighbors, as most of them experienced russian invasions in the past and some experience them in the present
Discussing the possibility of Putin’s next step simply raises the stakes of why he must be stopped NOW and why we must do everything we can to support the Ukraine while the fight is still going on. There are many, many Russian who oppose Putin. Can we organize a worldwide appeal for the brave Russians to remove Putin by ANY means possible? All it takes is ONE brave Russian to be a hero for all mankind.
They’ve built a gigantic oppressive system, which will be hard to penetrate from the outside. The opposition is in disarray- current opposition leader - Navalny, imprisoned, former - Nemtsov, shot, protesters being swiftly arrested, media under heavy censorship and control. Today they put Echo of Moscow and TV station Dozhd off the air. However, dissatisfaction in highest echelons is rapidly growing. We are hearing oligarchs protesting the war. The inner circle can decide the time is ripe …
But that’s a speculation, fending off Russia on Ukraine’s soil is much better for NATO than having to deal with it directly
Nik, please check out my latest blog post, “A Simple Appeal to the Russian People.” Please pass it along.
You have probably all seen a despicable attack on Kyiv's TV tower, adjacent to Babi Yar, which was hit too. Was it really an important military aim, worth hitting the mass grave of murdered nazi victims? So much for anti-nazi putin
There is some good news. Russian banker Alex Konanykhin has posted a million dollar, “wanted dead or alive” reward for Putin’s head on Facebook.
David, that chap would be doing the world a bigger favour if he put a price on your POTUS's head :)
Beau wrote: "David, that chap would be doing the world a bigger favour if he put a price on your POTUS's head :)"Really or is it some kind of exquisite British humor?
Beau wrote: "David, that chap would be doing the world a bigger favour if he put a price on your POTUS's head :)"Does not this Biden coward serve all of your purposes? Putin loves Biden, Scholz, Macron and Johnson as they are and where they are.
I can't think of many wars were stopped by an assassination. But I can think of one god awful one which was begun by an assassination.
When you think things can’t get worse you get someone saying a call to assassination is ”good news”. On FB too which sounds like it should be illegal, even if you hate Putin. Cheering on for anybody’s death is deplorable, and it shows the hypocrisy of supposedly ”civilized” people.
If putler thinks removing Zelensky solves his problems, no putin at the helm of Russia is likely to bring the war to an immediate halt:https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/vo...
Terese wrote: "When you think things can’t get worse you get someone saying a call to assassination is ”good news”. On FB too which sounds like it should be illegal, even if you hate Putin. Cheering on for anybod...".
And how many deaths is Putin causing as we speak? And how many THOUSANDS of innocent lives would be saved if Putin were sent downstairs to meet his brothers, Stalin and Hitler?
THOUSANDS!
I wasn't completely joking, Nik. While I agree with Terese's post (and J is, of course, right), I find Putin preferable to Biden.
When discussing crime, one should always study the causes of crime, and if sleepy, sneaky, creepy, leaky Joe and the wicked witch of the west hadn't stolen the last presidential election, this war would never have happened because President Trump would've shown the necessary statesmanship to nip it in the bud.
David, while our views are clearly not the same, I think, satire or no satire, there could be some overlap there - a bit like a Venn diagram :)

Beau, Comatose Joe Biden’s cowardice is indeed making the Trump-quacker look like a bald comb-over eagle of sorts. Sad. I always considered George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump to be America’s Holy Trinity of turdsqueak popcorn farts, but we may have to fashion this visage into a larger Holy Quartet to accommodate broken Joe and his pipeline of Depends.
Beau wrote: "....I find Putin preferable to Biden..."How so? Biden maybe gave putler an impression he can do whatever, however it's putin who started the war...
On the surface of it, Putin has behaved badly by waging war against another country, but Joey B and the rest of the WEF-controlled globalists have been waging war against their own people's health, livelihoods, liberties and values. For an 'enemy' to attack you is bad but for a supposed 'friend' to do the same is unforgivable.
The new Western globalists welcome war. Following on from covid and man-made climate change, it allows them, in classic 1984 style, to strike fear into the population and distract us with a supposed common enemy, while they busy themselves establishing a totalitarian one-world government and taking everything we own.
The West, if it wished, could've prevented this war. It didn't because the West we know and love has been hijacked by this self-serving globalist cult, who thrive on short-term chaos and of which sleepy Joe is nothing but a servant and puppet.

Beau, re globalists it’s just your theory. The west couldn’t have prevented the war, it’s a fallacy.. Putin was determined to re-subject Ukraine, just waited for an opportunity
