S.R. Piccoli Hello,

I’m a Christian author and I write Christian non-fiction. A blogger, a History teacher (until a few years ago), I’m based in the Venice area (Italy) and live with my wife, my daughter, and our dog. I published Blessed Are the Contrarians: Diary of a Journey Through Interesting Times (2012), Being Conservative from A to Z: An Anthology and Guide for Busy Conservative-Minded People (2014), and Blessed Are the Free in Spirit : A Journal in Complicated Times (February 2021).

Like my first book, Blessed Are the Free in Spirit is a kind of diary of a journey through our time—politics, culture, lifestyles, worldviews, etc.—and back home again, where “home” stands for a deep sentiment of belonging to our own free and indomitable spirit, which is much stronger than the spirit of our times, however powerful and attractive it may be. In both the above-mentioned books I have selected some of the articles posted on my blog over the years, those most suitable for this traditional mode of communication.

Ours are times of intellectual chaos and moral relativism, if not nihilism, and everything seems on the verge of falling apart, as the events of the recent past in the U.S. and elsewhere have abundantly shown. The whole story of Covid-19 fits perfectly into this context, to the point of becoming, at least in my mind, an effective metaphor of the Zeitgeist, which is interwoven with individual and collective pursuits, aspirations, and ambitions that are so very often ill-conceived, short-sighted, and based on false premises. Yet, such an upside-down world is nevertheless our one and only world—and it is well worth fighting for, in spite of everything. In a small way and to some extent, my books are my contribution to the fight.

All the best to you all!
Rob (Samuel Robert Piccoli)

Shanna Hello--I was invited to come share my book, recently published. It is my second book. The first was my memoir. I wrote this to help any one who desired to write a book but often said, "I would love to but don't know where to start." The Lord blessed me from start to finish, sharing all I know about writing fiction or nonfiction.

Mary Detweiler My name is Mary Detweiler. I just joined this group. I write non-fiction Christian books. Here is link to my amazon author page: https://www.amazon.com/-/e/B08KMYRZ72... AND, I will soon be adding a new book titled Do You Have an Exit Strategy? Here is excerpt from introduction: No one is going to get out of this life alive. No matter how much we may prefer not to think about this, it is an undeniable truth…When that happens, you will be released from your body’s physical bonds into eternity. You have no choice about this. You do, however, have a choice as to where you will spend eternity. Your home for eternity is entirely in your control. It will be determined based on where you’re at with God when you die…I am sharing my story in the hope that my experiences and struggles will resonate with some of you and will encourage you to take the leap of faith to put your life in God’s hands. They are the only hands, in my opinion, that will hold you safely and lovingly in this life and in the life to come. I hope this becomes your exit strategy.

message 15: by Lynn (new)

Lynn Wallace Hello! My name is Lynn Wallace and I write YA paranormal romance with a Christian twist. Maybe that sounds odd, but what it really means is that I use monsters to magnify the brokenness we find in ourselves and to showcase how faith is stronger than magic. I have two books out right now.

My first novel, "The Heart of Everything," features Emer, a reincarnated elven priestess as she struggles with the truth about her past and must choose between her two former lovers - Alex, a vampire, and Jesse, the son of the devil himself - one of whom is convinced she is the key to the salvation of his soul.

The second book, "The Supernatural Reasons Why I Love You," is a short story collection that features origin stories that trace the original trio of characters (Alex, Jesse, the priestess) all the way back to the very beginning. This collection also contains other paranormal romance shorts with new, never-before-seen characters!

Both books are available on Amazon, as well as Barnes and Noble, Walmart, Books-A-Million, and most eBook retailers.

message 18: by Jaime (new)

Jaime Buckley Hello friends =)

Thanks Kingdom for the invitation--though I'm not sure I qualify for this group, to be honest.

My name is Jaime Buckley, I'm a best-selling author, adoring husband, father or 13 beautiful children, and I have been developing a fictional project called 'Wanted Hero' since 1990. These were stories I'd tell my children to help them navigate the struggles of life-all with the desire to help them discover their 'intrinsic' value--to know that they matter.

My underlaying theme is always: You Are MORE Than You THINK You Are!

Everything I write is based not the Gospel of Christ--but I shroud it in magic and mystery allowing a greater reach around the globe.

These stories--first for my own children--were made into comic books and placed online in 2005. The comics then transformed into novels in 2009 with encouragement from David Farland, when he read my debut novel: Prelude to a Hero.

That was 11 books ago, and this fictional world is being crafted into an interactive online experience over at https://wantedhero.com

So far I have eight books in the main series, 'Chronicles of a Hero':
Prelude to a Hero
Race to Til-Thorin
Into the Fire
Trench Wars
Second Chances
The Truth About Lies
The Price of Fame
Howling Shadows

I've never stated this before--but I feel it's alright among believers here--but I'm so tired of agenda's, the worlds tainted views stealing away the hearts of our children...and I refuse to give up or give in while I have the strength to do something about it.

That includes winning the minds and hearts of our children.

Rambling? Maybe.
I simply believe that God is good and He has granted many people wondrous talents to help win souls, and I aim to do my part.

That is so awesome Jaime! I have a 10 year old son who loves, loves LOVES to read and your books sound like something he'd be interested in. I'm definitely going to take a look at them.

Also, agree 100% with what you said about the agenda to steal our children's hearts away. That is why my husband and I homeschool our 3 boys. As parents, as Christ followers, we cannot send them out into this world without making sure their faith is firmly planted in Christ Jesus. We are building a firm foundation, (with God's guidance) so that when we let them go into this world, they can stand firm on who Christ is, and not be swayed and lead astray. We also prayerfully hope they can be a positive light wherever they go, their very lives speaking the truth of Christ in all they say and do.

Thank you for writing to our kids to guide them in Christ. I endeavor to do the same.

God bless,

Rachel

Rachel Hackeburg When They All Disappeared

Hello all!

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Rachel and I just published my first book! I've written for years, but my writing has always stayed safely tucked away on my computer. Recently, however, a friend of mine invested in my dream of publishing, so I took a leap of faith and did it!

My first book titled, When They All Disappeared, is about a 14-year-old boy who thinks he has life all figured out and under control. Then, the rapture happens and he's left behind. Now, he's trying to figure out what to do next. It's an end times suspenseful novel with a lot of biblical truth and scripture references. It's geared toward young adults aged 12+ plus, but I've had a lot of adults say it's been good for them as well.

I look forward to interacting in this group!

God bless,

Rachel

message 25: by Don (new)

Don Boudreaux Hey there, it’s a pleasure to be a part of this group. I am a Vietnam War combat veteran, a proud father and grandfather, a prophetic minister for over 30 years, and, as of April, 2021, a published author. I lived a wild, undisciplined life during my time in Vietnam and before coming to know and love Jesus. But, I am so thankful that Jesus has saved me, forgiven me, and continues to show me His steadfast love.

30 years ago, I thought I heard the Lord tell me to write a book, but I told Him that he needed to confirm this to me. So, 30 years later (lol), he sent a prophetess to confirm this word for me. So, I wrote and published a book about my Vietnam experiences, correlating those experiences to scripture and to the realities of warfare for God’s people. The book is entitled “Vietnam and Christianity”, and in the book, I share many aspects of my testimony, many of my extraordinary experiences in the Vietnam War, the importance of prayer and intercession, the power and effectiveness of righteous prophetic ministry, the necessity of overcoming sin, and the presence and involvement of angels to assist the body of Christ. The book is published by Redemption Press, a Christian publisher, and though it’s my first book, I think many who enjoy war stories and reading of the power and beauty of Jesus will greatly benefit from reading the book. I will post more info about the book, including book review promotions, under other group topics. May the Lord bless and strengthen all readers and authors in this group, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Note: Because I don’t have much familiarity or experience with technology, my son manages all my social media affairs and creates and posts my content.

Brian C. Holley Hi, I'm Brian Holley. I published my second book, The God I Left Behind (A Journey from fundamentalism to faith) last October. In it I gave my Christian autobiography and how I deconstructed my fundamentalist beliefs and I hope that won't offend too many of you. Christianity still lies firmly at the foundation of my spiritual life but I'm also inspired by authors from many faiths. I'm now working on two books: Beyond Ego and The Other Side of Beyond that latter of which is spiritual fiction.

message 27: by Michael (new)

Michael LaFond I am a non-believer loves Jesus and Christian philosophy. I am interested in discovering as much as possible about Jesus, his teachings, and early Christianity. I have been studying, first as a believer and then as an atheist, for my whole life. I have researched the history since 1993. My approach to Christianity is anthropological. I have written about some of my most important discoveries in Jesus Christ Divided.

Jesus Christ Divided is a historical examination of the letters of the New Testament starting with Paul. It differs with many scholars by accepting tradition even when the text challenges our modern sensibilities. By examining carefully and objectively, a surprising story comes to light that anyone can see.

Ivan Chamurliev Hello, everyone. I think that it is appropriate to tell some of my story and what got me here. My name is Ivan, and I am from Bulgaria, but I spent the last 19 years out of my country. The reason is that at the age of 17, I was admitted to a rehab center in Italy due to issues I had with drugs. It happened that the rehabilitation program was Christian based, and during the period I had to stay there, God reached out to my heart, and I started believing and having a new life. Soon after that, I decided to volunteer there. I spent 13 of those years in Italy and 6 in South Africa. I was in both of these places because of the work related to this center.

I believe that all people from each area of life need to hear the good news of Jesus. I am also trying to find different ways to let that happen. The reason I am writing is one of them. You can connect with me on https://bible-meditations.my.canva.site/ or visit https://www.freebiblesermons.com/, where I write blog posts on different Christian topics. I know my English needs to improve, but I am trying my best to copy edit and proofread what I write. Up to this moment, I published two books.

Practical Eschatology and Signs of the End times: A sober view of what could happen in the coming days and
Common questions about God and the Bible: The most common and often controversial questions about God and the Bible

My purpose is not to make an income, and actually I am investing much more than what I manage to earn. I hope to improve with time on this as well.
May God bless you and help you with everything He has set up for you to accomplish!
