You’re right that the book is a reflection on social change (and the commons in particular) told through football. That framing was intentional; the game is the language, but the conversation is about how we might organise life differently.

I also appreciate the note about the lyrical tone. I wanted the writing to carry some of the emotion and rhythm of football itself, though I understand that style won’t work equally well for everyone.

I’m glad you found it accessible and worth your time. That means a great deal.
