Summary: Cassie's main dream is to marry and have her own family. She already has a solid career in Wedding planning so now all she wants is to be loved. BUT her ex abandoned her for another woman. It broke her heart but it also broke her self esteem. Because of the break up, she feels like she might not be good enough for anyone, even though she is a beautiful successful 30 year old gal. This leads her to be a people pleaser OR more accurately a boyfriend pleaser.
When she runs into a really good looking man and he charms her and knows how to physically pleasure her, she can't even for a MINUTE imagine life with out him.
He is literally perfect except for one thing, he asks that she allow him to watch her with other men.
Their relationship is FAST AF. (IRL Red flag#1) He LOVE BOMBS her and she and her family fall for all of it. Thank you so much Jade West for writing this story to show us how it can happen TO ANYONE and how it's done, and how important it is to know these red flags and to know the definitions of the words COERCION and CONSENT.
You will probably think that the FMC was a little too naive and too hungry for love etc. You will probably think this is not realistic. You might say she was stupid. But she wasn't. She was just VULNERABLE. This is exactly the type of person these predators hunt for. But this is not just a type of person. This is also a stage of your life because WHO hasn't had a horrible break up that has left them super broken? Did I wish for the FMC to wake up sooner? YES but that's the point! You are so lost in their world and their desires and lies and you don't even know what to believe and can't even think for your self.
I wouldn't categorize this as a romance or a dark romance. I'd say it's on the lighter side of Horror Erotica. AND I only say lighter because it could have been so much worse and this does have an HEA. This story had me STRESSED OUT OF MY MIND for 80% of the book. I had nightmares. I couldn't stop thinking of it.
I'm now more aware of how easily it can happen and I'm grateful to the writer for this awareness. <3
