Natalie For other readers who may see this review:
I wouldn’t let it deter you. Autism presents very differently from person to person, and preferences around touch and intimacy can be highly contextual. As the book progresses, it becomes clear that the character isn’t opposed to touch altogether, he just needs agency and timing to feel regulated and safe.
The author notes early on that autism is a significant part of her life, and that the portrayal is informed by real experiences. For readers looking for a romance that thoughtfully explores emotional and physical intimacy through an autistic lens, this story may resonate in ways that aren’t immediately apparent early on.
My intention isn’t to discredit the reviewer’s opinion, but to offer context so others can decide for themselves.
Thank you.

A.B. Shepherd For the most part, it's a control issue. He may not enjoy touching others, but if he's in control of the touching it may be tolerable. Having others touch him is beyond his control and why its totally overwhelming and triggering.
