Laura Koerber I think the biggest threat to our security is Mad King Pussygrabber and the decayed, depraved party of oligarchs, cranks, and weirdos. Iran is doing what every nation does: promoting what they see as their self-interest. The US does it tool and not to promote democracy or freedom. Iraq today is an authoritarian regime. The ancient Christian and Jewish communities that were there from Bible times are now gone. A million people were made into refugees and hundreds of thousands died. What has Iran done that is comparable to that?

Laura Koerber BTW WE destroyed a democratic and secular government in Iran. We helped the British destroy that government to get the oil. Then we supported the Shah by financing and even training his secret police who tortured and murdered thousands. What has Iran done that is comparable? The revolution that put the mullahs in charge was the reaction of Iranians to the dictatorship the US and Britian imposed on them. When are American ever going to learn that our actions have consequences both to us and to others?

Laura Koerber We also need to take a good hard look at the role of bigotry in American foreign policy re the Middle East--and money. Saudis and Dubai have paid massive personal bribes to King Pussygrabber to get favored status with him when the Saudis are just as bad as Iran on human rights and, of course, the Taliban was connected to them

Tim Goff The book is already outdated, as the newest material is from 2023, when there was still some sanity in the US government. But, even then, the author wasn't able to offer much advice on how to counter this 'state without borders.' These days, the options he proposed are mostly gone.

I read this to get a (somewhat) neutral overview of this 'state without borders,' to identify motives, possibilities, and propaganda. Thus far, it looks to me like the current US government isutterly incapable of grasping what it is dealing with.

Laura Koerber I'm reading a book about Edward III. It includes his Crusade and...well. Sigh.

Sorry about my rant.

Tim Goff Most of my reading these days is for Authentic, a point-based review pool that has given me close to 100 reviews over the past year. Usually, I select fantasy/mystery titles, but this one...Well, I like to keep informed, especially with the world falling apart.
