Thank you for reading! So, you don't like a book series? This story is a complete stand-alone book with only one hanging thread to be picked up in book 2. How could I have communicated this is going to be a series better? Was it just the words "To be continued" that you didn't like, or was it something else?

It definitely did not seem like a standalone novel. And I did not like the to be continued line, I like to continue with a series because I want to. Not because I feel I'm being forced to. It sure seemed like the latter to me.
I've read several books since finishing it and don't really remember exactly how it ended. But, I would suggest make your endings more clear cut. Leave the reader more choice.

Ah. Thanks for the feedback. Sorry that it seemed like a continuation felt forced. I'd hoped that I had concluded nearly every arc except one. I will look at the end again to see if I can find a way to approach it differently.
