I believe of all protagonists in Hemingway's books, Robert Jordan best fits the mold of the Hemingway Hero. While some may argue Jake in 'The Sun Also Rises' is the best or Santiago in 'The Old Man in the Sea,' I think Jordan stands out as the one who shows the most grace under pressure and is destroyed but not defeated. I'd like to hear anyone's thoughts about this topic.
Agreed. I think the novel might have survived some cutting, but overall, it was brilliant.
