Thank you, D.M. – I really appreciate this response, especially your willingness to engage the pushback rather than simply the praise. I think that tradeoff between simplification and visibility is one of the book’s most interesting tensions: the argument gains its force because it clears away so much professional camouflage, even as that same compression occasionally leaves less room for the messier realities underneath. What stayed with me most was how consistently the book traces avoidance across levels – from credentials and meetings to systems, leadership, and finally the reader’s own habits. That widening is what made it feel like much more than an MBA satire to me. Grateful for the book, and for such a thoughtful response to the review.

You caught the core of it: the book isn’t really about MBAs — it’s about avoidance.
And yes — the simplification is a tradeoff. But without it, most of what the book is pointing at stays hidden behind better language.
Appreciate the depth (and the pushback).
