Kristof Loak Hello, fellow readers.
I've just published THE TASTE OF LEAD, a dark academia novel set at the University of Padua in 1592, and I'm looking for honest reviewers.
The story: A woman arrives at the university disguised as a boy. She draws cadavers with a precision that catches the attention of Professor Enea Valier. When her anatomical illustrations reveal evidence of mercury poisoning in the university's supply chain, she uncovers a truth the institution needs buried. He tells her to destroy her notes. She refuses.
What makes it different: No magic. No supernatural. Real Renaissance anatomy, real chemistry, real institutional politics. The romance is measured in centimetres — the distance between two drawings on a workbench. The horror is bureaucratic — the lie on a death certificate written in perfect calligraphy.
For fans of: The Name of the Rose, The Miniaturist, Babel, Perfume.
First in a completed trilogy — all three books are available now.
Free ebook for an honest Amazon review. All ratings genuinely welcome. DM me if interested.
