Thank you for your review, Angelina! It was my hope, as you say, this book will move away from the dry, academic treatises of other non-fiction books (as there are more than enough on Pompeii alone) and bring the people of the city to life for the first time in a personal way.
It really shows! I imagine reading this book on the way to either Pompei or Herculaneum (I know, but it still gives out the same vibes), or even while in the archaeological parks themselves. It will definitely give a new light and feel when a person 'lives' the lives between the walls.
