You're right that Mary was out of line, and Addie reflects a very stubborn and stagnant worldview that I'm still growing out of.
While Addison's denial and cognitive dissonance are very much challenged and unpacked in this story, I definitely failed to let Mary grow out of these overbearing tendencies.
