Al Hilarious and completely agree. It was my first Sanderson book and I kept waiting for something to happen that would make me understand why this book is rated so highly, but NOPE. Nothing.

Mary Catherine Sellers Yes! It was my first too! At first I thought I just didn’t get it but I honestly don’t think there was anything to get! I might try Mistborn. Everyone raves about them as well but I’m kind of scared LOL!

Kiah Nordgren this is NOT a good one to start with. it’s a good book because of all the references to stormlight, mistborn, and others. also you can’t fully appreciate Hoid in his current state until you’ve met him normally

Melissa Fratti This is a TERRIBLE first Sanderson book to start with. There are so many Easter eggs from his previous books, so I can see how it’s a bit confusing. You have to read a few of his other works to really understand and appreciate it.

Jane Cathleen My first read by this author and I was bored.

Kate I usually enjoy Sanderson, but this one was not worth it. I finished it after guessing the plot twist early on. I didn’t enjoy a second of it. I love Mistborn, but it did take me two tries because the beginning was so slow. That one was worth finishing though.

Cassandra Dickinson This was my first book of his, I found it hilarious and just downloaded another book of his. My husband is a huge fan after he finished Wheel of Times, but I have so much on my TBR I never attempted one of his books. Until last week, my friend had it playing in her car on audible and I was hooked after she explained the first few chapters before hitting “play” and I wanted my own copy. Great thing about buying on Kindle is my husband can also read it too. Totally worth the $10!

Alsu Cakmak Completely agree. The author was clearly willing to give Tress some philosophical depth, but instead I saw some stuck up nose attitude in her as she kept the quest longer and longer. I already guessed the plot twist, and the pirates were so fricking boring.

Jerry Wayne Hart *couldn’t care less. 😋
