James Field Hi Michael,

Lovely to hear from you again — it’s been a while!

“Uncle Kurt” made me smile. I must admit, I haven’t actually read any of your uncle’s work — which feels like a bit of a social failing on my part, especially now I discover there’s a family connection involved. I’d better put that right as soon as possible.

That line about paranoia is superb — sharp, unsettling, and amusing all at once. From what you’ve shared, I can see why he leaves such a strong impression.

You say Confido is particularly intriguing. Swapping it for “Chatbot” sounds like it gives the story a rather chilling modern twist — very much in tune with the times.

Thanks for the nudge — I think it’s time I finally made the acquaintance of your Uncle Kurt.

Hope you’ve been well!

Best,
James

Michael Gardner Hi James

Uncle Kurt is a must read. Start with the published works first, like Breakfast of Champions and Cat's Cradle. And, of course, Slaughterhouse-Five. 😁
