The Pucking Wrong series by C R Jane is amazing! I will never not recommend The Chronicles of Anna Monroe and Boston Marks (PLEASE check trigger warnings-those are pitch black). If looking for short, and twisted, more spice than plot look up Jaye Pratt. The Carnival series by Selena Winters is also a twisted fun time! Just check out my read list lol

oh girl…buckle up. 1. The Boy I Loved by Annika Nofal (would NEVER recommend without saying to check triggers first). that being said, I didn’t tho cause I myself am messy🤣 i’ve heard people call it “pitch black” but I didn’t think so personally🫣 also not considered a romance, but has “romantic elements” 2. Edge of Darkness trilogy by Leigh Rivers is my roman empire BUT highlyyy emotionally wrecking. both are captivity story lines which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea which is why I say to check triggers first. if you’re looking for a MESSYY fmc, Ecstasy by KV Rose. fmc has a drug addiction and is not by any means loyal but I ATE IT UPP. this book & EOD trilogy have amazing playlists too🤌🏻
OMG EOD is also my roman empire, im buying the hard copies finally for my birthday next month. all other recs going immediately to my TBR, I love the darker the better 🖤😩

Hey, I hope a self rec is okay. And my book is more emotionally dark and messy, rather than smutty dark messy. My characters have a lot of inner demons they have to deal with, and it's not your typical dark romance couple. Dark Slow Burn Motorcycle Romance, Classy FMC, Tortured MMC, Love Against All Odds, Found Family, Rival Clubs, Romantic Suspense, Spice but not Smut, "Touch her and you'll beg for Death". If you’re looking for a dark mafia romance, I recommend the authors Neva Altaj and Michelle Heard. Most of their books have morally grey heroes, the characters are messy, and the explicit scenes are well placed. But they’re not so dark that you need therapy afterward or are left questioning your life choices 😆. If you want a a dark fantasy, I recommend a Ruin of Roses or Into Darkness, both by K.F. Brenne.
