Michael’s review of God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything > Likes and Comments

As I’m reading this book I am having mixed reactions. It’s amusing, irreverent and hard-hitting. The author is very well-informed, and his accounts of his personal experience and his enquiries into the validity of reports of certain events are very useful. But all-too-frequently he goes over the top and I keep having to consult other, more scholarly, sources to obtain a less one-sided account. Nevertheless, religion deserves a good bashing and it’s satisfying that it’s being bashed.
