Ivy Glass I randomly thought about something I used to care about… and it felt like it belonged to a completely different person. Not in a bad way. Just… strange. Same name, same life
but a different version of me.

I wonder how many versions we go through without realizing it.

F. P. ...It will likely keep happening more and more as time goes on. In my opinion and experience, it's part of aging; to me it's felt like I'm a snake shedding off an old skin. It felt comfortable on me for so long, but then it started itching badly, or grew too big for me or too small. And I no longer recognize myself.

It can be scary; I consider it an existential crisis, wherein I can no longer be "me." And considering I'm going to be sixty next year, I've gone through a lot of existential crises, especially lately.

Just the other day, I told myself that I forgot to care about something that was very important to me, but then I realized that it was no longer important to me at all. It had become irrelevant to my life now.

You're right to question how many times it's happened. I will just recommend that you hang on and try to enjoy the ride, because it's probably going to get crazier....
