I grew up in the 80s, so that influence is definitely intentional ..it’s more of a nod to that era than an attempt to replicate anything specific. While I understand the comparison to IT the story and characters especially Maggie Sweets..come from a completely original place. A lot of what’s in the book is my personal story. Steven, in many ways, reflects my own experiences, which is why the tone and structure may feel different from more traditional horror. I know my writing style isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. But I do appreciate you recognizing the potential in the underlying story.. that means a lot. Thanks again for giving it a read.
