honestly, all of these. I need all of these too.
The author did say that Kieran and Reaver would not happen, but I think a part of me is still hoping she changes her mind about it 😅 they would be great together. ❤️❤️
Nope! On her Instagram she said “the next
book in the Blood and Ash world. A
Light in the Flame is releasing 15
November. - Malissa”
:)
Yes I know, A Light in the Flame is the sequel to A Shadow in the Ember. It’s not the same book as FBAA #5 which will be the sequel to The War of Two Queens. 🙂
@Jada true. I don’t mind smut, but it was just too much at times. Like when they wanted a go at it before Cas even got a chance to clean up after being held captive for months ?! 😅
Apparently she's counting the book from Cas's POV as book 5 and I don't understand how that happened either
@Veronica Im disappointed honestly. I like Cas, but right now I just want to know what happens next, I don’t want to be reading about all the horniness and the sex-fest but from his POV… I really hope this is more than what we already know told by him. 🤞🏼
She shared the release dates in her newsletter, but I don’t remember them all.
I know book 5 will be released this summer (July I think) and I am tempted to say October for this one, but I will have to double check…
After reading ASOAAB. I need more of all you mentioned and also more of Cass as a big cat, I need to know if Poppy remembers everything, Ires/Malec moments, Poppy and Millie moments, the reunion of Sera with her sons and also the meeting of Nyktos and Sera with Poppy.
@Michelle I haven’t read ASOAAB yet, but yes to all you said!! It will be so wholesome if Poppy and Millie can develop a bond and if Poppy can spend more time with her father and grandparents ♥️
@Maham Yeah I saw the “untitled” one. I’m not sure if I’m happy or discouraged that this series keeps on getting longer. 😅
@sous I do enjoy the smut and the characters, but I’m just afraid that the plot will suffer because it’s dragging on…
Poppy did get really high on the power ladder. And the true primal of life and death? I can agree that feels iffy.
But YES
PLEASE FIND JADIS
I kinda want to see poppy meet her grandma sera
@Cassidy Wall oops! I never saw your comment! But yeah Jadis should definitely be the priority in this one. I will be VERY disappointed if they don't find her 😒
Where the hell is book 5? Like the actual continuation of the whole story!
I’m so sick of these side stories. JLA needs to get on it asap
I think this one will be the "real" continuation, but she is releasing another book before which seems to be a collection of short stories and "extras".
I agree with you, it's time we get a real sequel that helps the plot to progress... 🙄
Is this still set to release in May? 🥺 I really hope so because I was disappointed with the last book…

No, I am pretty sure it will be later. She pushed the relrease date of Born of Blood ans Ash (Flesh and Fire #4) to August because of her health I think, and I am pretty sure this one will be released after the Flesh and Fire series is completed... 🤷♀️

I mean... We'll get the book eventually I guess... But I stoped eagerly waiting for it a while ago... 😔
i’m so excited!!! also i agree on all of this. people are thinking poppy is an ancient and i swear i will be so upset if that’s true 😭

Yes! It felt like the 4th one was released forever ago!
@barbs honestly, I need to reread the 3rd and 4th books before this one comes out, because i don't even remember what my theories were, or what powers Poppy developed (because there were just so many 😅)
Not a fan of the first one myself, but I hope this gives you everything you’re waiting for! Fingers crossed for those Kieran moments!
Jayden wrote: "Not a fan of the first one myself, but I hope this gives you everything you’re waiting for! Fingers crossed for those Kieran moments!"
I did enjoy the first 4 books quite a lot, but I find that this author has a tendency to pointlessly drag the plot over too many books, so I am hoping that everything will be nicely wrapped up in this one, and that we will not get too many lengths like we did in the ASITE prequel series...
I swear if this next book doesn’t start with Poppy knowing exactly who Cas and Kieran are, I legit lose my shit and DNF it…I lie, but I won’t be thrilled. There are only so many obstacles I can handle before they finish this war as a team. My heart in NOT okay
@Kristi Leet, agreed. I will still give it a try, but I an really not a fan of the whole amnesia plot line, and they have SO MUCH to do already! 😅😮💨
@Kusu I am not 100% sure, but I think the last book will be focused on Malik and Millie... I remember reading it somewhere a while ago. As I said, I am not 100% sure though, maybe it changed or the author gave more details on her page/website...
I'll be very happy to get some more insight on Malik and Millie, imo they deserve at least one novella if not a whole book.
But to put them at the end of a series that didn't begin as their own would be weird.

But if I remember correctly, that is the plan. This book will be the conclusion to Poppy and Cas' adventure, and the next (and last?) one will focus on Millie and Malik. I agree that it is a little weird, but I am also happy to get to know more about them. Hopefully, she will not drag their story on forever like she did with Sera and Ash.
Do i need to read a soul of ash and blood before this one? I was told #5 is just Casteel's POV and the plot doesnt progress. Is that true?
Jamie, yes most of the book is just book one from Cas’s POV, which was frustrating to me. I don’t like rehashings. You learn a trivial amount of anything. But, the last 1/4-1/3 of the book does have new information/events and was the best part of the book. She could’ve written it as a novella and been better off.
@Jamie Arleo I agree with Ericathe book is not really useful, except for the first and the last 10%-15% maybe. If you can get your hands on a copy, I would recommend reading only the first few and last chapters that happen in the present. The rest is Cas reminiscing about his time with Poppy in the 1st book.
If you can't or don't want to get a copy simply to read a few chapters, I'm sure you can find a spoilery blurb of the book somewhere... or I can let you know what you missed once I reread those few chapters myself. 😉
A soul of blood and ash is in Casteels pov from the first book. 90% of what you need is in that one lol. My question......is the primal of blood and bone the last installment or is there more after it?
Sabrina wrote: "A soul of blood and ash is in Casteels pov from the first book. 90% of what you need is in that one lol. My question......is the primal of blood and bone the last installment or is there more after..."
I heard that this one is the conclusion to Poppy and Casteel's story, but that there will be another book after that and it will be about Millie and Malek (I think?). Other readers might know more about it, this is what I remember reading a while ago on a blog of IG page...
I'm also worried that this will turn into Flesh and Fire and get drug on waaaayyy too long. This story is already massive so I'm worried this is going to be so much filler.
@Alaina I had high hopes for this book, but after Flesh and Fire, I decided to lower my expectations because I know there is a good chance that this book will have a lot of repetitive monologues/conversations or filler scenes.
I really hope to be proved wrong, but already I was disappointed with Cas's book and the waste of time it was... 😔
I haven’t read these books in so long I’m debating rereading them all with the order of Flesh and Fire. Or maybe just read Casteels book as a recap since I skipped that one and save me the time ??
@Jessica Cas's book will be a good recap for the first book for sure, and I think it would be relevant to read at least the first and last 10% because it's new information and will connect the events of The War of Two Queens and whatever happens in the book to be released in September.
@Jessica there ate also important information in the Flesh and Fire series that will probably be mentioned in the next book, but I think if you remember the main gods and goddesses and the story between Nyktos, Kolis and Sera, you should be good...
