ted chiang’s better short story is “story of your life”—the movie arrival is based off it, if you’ve seen it! still sci-fi but beautifully written and with so much heart and emotion to it, including themes of language/linguistics and memory and motherhood and just all around so so gorgeous
@jana that’s crazy I’m reading that book right now, just finished “story of your life” yesterday! I loved it too!
