Elizabeth Maya, I completely agree with you. I did find Strangers very compelling. But even so, the NYT coverage of this novel was astonishing and it's inarguably connected to Belle Burden's New York old money heritage.

Nicole Johnson Similar feelings. A financial YouTuber reviewed it and I added it to my read list. I think I expected more excitement. She ended up okay, as one would expect when wealth surrounds you. I do admire that she spoke out, when it’s easy to stay silent. I can believe that was the world she grew up in and the way she was raised and breaking out of that space took effort.


ScissorsAndStories Why shouldn’t you read it and sympathize? Why isn’t she deserving of your time and care? Because of her race and parentage? What an awful take.
