Loved your review - hated the book - but I am exasperated by Boyne who is one of the most overpraised authors I know of - most particularly he is a dishonest author - I won't bore you with details but I have reviews for about three of his books to post.
Liam, it amazes me you would even read 3 of this author's novels, considering your description of him. I certainly plan to pass on this one thanks to George's review. I find his reviews to be so helpful.
I agree with you about George's reviews they are first rate. As for having read three of Boyne's two were early ones and I was indulgent but then I read this book and along with his boy in the striped pyjamas it just made mad and I couldn't get over the lavish praise the author received.
I love reviews that the reviewer publishes almost despite themselves.
