Georgia Taylor Wowwww this is really well explained, I need to copy and paste this for my review coz I had no idea how to summarise how I felt!! 😂 you nailed it.

Pauline The ending really bothered me and was over the top. Margaret’s overwhelming success was totally unbelievable. Given the gender pay gap I didn’t believe that her and Walt could afford to go back to school for multiple degrees while also sending their three kids to school.

Beth Carlin This is my exact scenario right now- my book club pick and it really left me wanting more! I thought it would really dive into these themes but it felt really glossed over and sickly sweet!

message 4: by Catherine (new)

Catherine I gave it three stars but agree with what everyone on this thread writes.
I think I based my rating on the fact that the other seven people in my book club really liked it. I figured that should count for something 😏

message 5: by Judy (new)

Judy Disagree. The women all made big changes in their lives.

message 6: by Martha (new)

Martha Therres Through the lens of the 1960, all four of these women were troublesome to the status quo indeed.

message 7: by Thao (new)

Thao Ho I rolled my eyes when Jackie-O walked into the room at the end.

message 8: by Erin (new)

Erin The whole Jackie Kennedy arc had me rolling my eyes. Because sure. 🙄

Sandy Bell Wow, I feel like I read a different book. I respect different opinions. They should always exist. For me, who was born in the 60's, I lived this world. It felt very real and very troublesome.
