Based on your review you just don't like or understand LitRPG genre, why then you started to read the book that is obviously belongs to it? This is the same as someone, after reading a romance novel, comparing it to peeking at other people's romance. "If you like to see your friends getting in relationships as you just get nothing, then you'll like those romance books, but to me they are stupid, it is more interesting to be in a relationships on your own".
