Hello everyone. I have been a freelance writer for many years and have also worked as a ghostwriter previously of Christian and Amish fiction. After working on my debut novel for many years (taking so long due to health challenges), I finally published it this week.

My first book is about a brother and a sister separated through tragedy and adoption. As adults, they now wonder what has happened to the other. And without any spoilers, I will just say it's a heartwarming read that tugs at the heartstrings. There are elements of faith, redemption, forgiveness, adoption, homelessness, alcoholism, and family.

From the editor: I would like to introduce the first book I edited, which was self-published on Amazon Kindle several months ago. The title is Haze by O.B. Reise. There are several genres it can be categorized under, and it would most accurately be described as a science fiction, dystopian, Christian adventure. The book includes several biblical references to people, events, stories, parables, and psalms, as well as a few biblical phrases that the reader will catch. Those who are familiar with the Bible will enjoy discovering the numerous bible Easter eggs. However, even if the reader is not familiar with the Bible, they will still find the novel a page-turning, great read. The book introduces the concepts of prayer, living a true life, and leading by example. Almost every chapter ends in a cliff-hanger, not to mention the ending. I really enjoyed the work of editing it, despite the countless hours spent reviewing storyboards, character relationship charts, revisions, and the inefficient time management of editing (and re-editing). I chalk that up to inexperience. Despite the work, I believed in the message and stuck to it.
The story is about a young man who realizes there is more to life than the propaganda and state-mandated programs its citizens are required to participate in. Parts of this dystopian CityFort are a satire of today’s world, where some might feel we are told what to believe and do (and not allowed to believe, think, or say) by the media bombarding us every minute. Nab, the main character, learns from certain people that there is indeed a true purpose in life and must overcome the hurdles, the active resistance, and his own doubts in his quest for answers.
I’m particularly proud that, along with a supporting cast of friends and family, next to jobs, raising our children, aging parents, and the curveballs life throws at us, my author wife and I were able to complete this lofty goal, and I hope people find it exciting, even helpful, and encouraging.

Hi, I’m a Christian author, and I recently published my very first book.
My writing journey began in an unexpected season of life. The small local company I worked for merged with a much larger one, and most of our jobs—including mine—were automated away. After the layoff, I took the summer to breathe, pray, and figure out what came next. I planted a garden, slowed down, and spent more time with my mom, who’s in her eighties.

It didn’t take long to realize she needed me close. She’d stopped going to her doctor appointments, wasn’t taking her prescriptions regularly, and would sometimes fall and tear her paper‑thin skin. Being home with her felt right—necessary, even.

And in that quiet space, I finally turned toward a dream I’d been putting off for years: writing.

I’ve always loved suspense stories with a thread of romance woven through them. I’ve submitted a few manuscripts to Harlequin’s Love Inspired line, and my most recent submission, Bitter Vendetta, received encouraging feedback. They suggested I deepen the characters’ internal thoughts and emotions—advice I took to heart. I’m revising that story now and hope to self‑publish it by the end of this fall.

I had also planned to submit A Harbinger of Love to Harlequin, but after applying their feedback, the manuscript grew too long for their guidelines. So I chose to self‑publish it instead—and I’m grateful I did.

A Harbinger of Love is a Christian romance with a touch of suspense.
Garrett, the hero, has been betrayed by the two people closest to him and sets out on a path of revenge. But then he meets Kayla—a gentle, faith‑rooted woman longing for a loving family. He intends to use her in his plan… but her kindness, her steadiness, and her faith begin to wrap around his heart in ways he never expected.

Publishing this book has been a blessing, and I hope readers enjoy the story as much as I loved writing it.

My name is Dan Dooley. I just joined the group. I have returned to Goodreads following a time off of the platform.

I am the author of seven books. Six fiction novels and one non-fiction book. At a later time, I will introduce my books, but right now I simply want to introduce myself.

Rather than label myself a "Christian writer," I prefer to say that I am a writer who is a Christian. For though my books are all clean, Christian friendly, devoid of such elements as crude or profane language, violence, graphic sex, and immoral behavior or anything else contrary to Christian morals and values, some of my novels are not directly Christian themed. Even my Christian novels are open to readers who may not consider themselves Christian. At least to those who are not hostile to Christian themes and messages.

My wife and I live in a city in northeast Arkansas. We are retired, but we are actively involved in church ministry. In fact, until a couple of months ago, we pastored a church here in our city. We are very involved in marriage ministry, to newly wed and soon to be married couples as well as couples going through struggles in their marriages.

I am retired from the medical electronics field, and she from administrative work with the Salvation Army.

I’m new here, but I wanted to introduce myself and share something I’ve been working on.
I’ve always been drawn to stories that don’t just tell a narrative, but quietly point to something deeper—where meaning unfolds beneath the surface rather than being stated outright.
Recently, I completed a short allegorical work titled The Clockmaker’s Gospel. It follows the idea of a hidden mechanism beneath a city—one that reflects humanity’s desire to control time, undo mistakes, and repair what is broken without surrender. As the story unfolds, it becomes less about machinery and more about the limits of human effort, and the need for true redemption.
It’s a very short read, but intentionally layered, and shaped by themes from Scripture and the Gospel message.
I’d genuinely be curious what others think of it if you choose to read it. Feedback is always welcome.

Hi everyone
I am Australian author of middle grade and YA fiction. Last year I had two books published.

The first was a middle-grade one set in a rural area about an 11 year old girl, Millie, from a Christian family. It is called Always Your Sister, and includes journal entries from Millie to Noah, a baby brother who was stillborn 4 years earlier. It is a gentle read and includes Millie helping friends work through their issues. She also gets help from the school chaplain and her parents and older sister for her own anxiety while her mum is pregnant with a new sibling. Always Your Sister has been shortlisted in the Speech Pathology Australia awards and is available from Koorong (an Aussie Christian bookstore). There is an audiobook version too.

The YA book I wrote, Holding Back, is not overtly Christian but is a 'clean' read that centres around a 15 year old homeschooler, Nick. He does campdrafting (horseriding - cutting a steer/heifer from a mob and taking it round a course). He is a bit reclusive, but decides to challenge himself to get out of his comfort zone and make friends through swim club. There is lots of action (comps and races) and many relatable moments for rural and homeschooled teens. Also available on audiobook.

I have another book coming out later this year called The Art of Soccer - another 'clean read' that is also an easy read for teens in the Rhiza Shorts list (like Holding Back). This one is about a teenage girl who wants to be a professional soccer player but is thrown a curve ball when she doesn't recover well from a bout of Covid.

I am interested in recommendations for Christian/clean books for middle-grade and teens that I can read for inspiration or recommend to my youngest children (aged 10 and 13). I also enjoy some historical (like pioneering America) and modern Christian fiction - where the characters are real and relatable (not too preachy).
