There's a grumpy/sunshine romance called 'Holy Phrog' that starts sad and has a HEA https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Cleopatra and Frankenstein by Coco Mellors. I swear by this book. If you’re looking for a messy, age gap, addiction/mental health romancy vibe this is the book for you!!
I’ve actually been reading a romantic fantasy series recently that has a mix of love, secrets, and emotional twists. It’s called Her World: The Alpha’s Hidden Secret—it fits really well with this type of discussion.
maybe some cozy romcoms??? Closed door and super sweet. <3Gravity, Grease, & Soybeans
Tethers, Truth, & Constellations
Dissonance, Drift, & Realignment
Sparks, Static, & Mishaps
Gonna be a mix of romance and Romanticy but I have a lot of recsOnce Upon a Broken Heart series - fairy tale style Romanticy that I love
The Selection series - dystopian royal romance that’s is like the bachelor with rebellion
A Thousand Heartbeats - historical fantasy with forbidden love enemies to lovers and is dual pov
Assistant to the Villain series - multipov slow burn with the fantasy villain and his assistant
Today, Tonight, Tomorrow - academic rivals to lovers in a very short time frame as they prepare to graduate high school
The Sun and the Starmaker - sorta enemies to lovers forced proximity Romanticy with an interesting magic system and is a stand alone
Mint to Be - this is a Christmas one but it was super sweet I read it in one sitting is ya best friends to lovers
Daughter of the Pirate Queen - really fun Romanticy enemies to lovers read it a couple years ago (before I was allowed to read anything with smut) and remember loving it
Fair Play - historical Christian (though not in your face so it won’t be uncomfortable if you don’t agree/share the faith) with a interesting setting and 0 spice
Thorne in My Heart series - I have read the first three books and they sorta broke my heart the concept is weird and there are some interesting relationships and they definitely mention them doing things but it’s historical (1700s) and nothing is actually shown. I felt comfortable reading them at 14 (again Christian fiction)
Short Straw Bride - This was the first romance I read so I loved it but I don’t want to upsell it in case it’s just nostalgia, it’s historical Christian fiction with a marriage of convenience (somewhat), slight age gap with characters, and a really sweet and helpful FMC (I haven’t read the rest of the series)
The Negotiator - the FMC is a negotiator for the police and basically it’s a whole story which follows this found family group who each have different jobs and all of them falling in love (there is a negotiator, a firefighter, a detective I think, a psychologist, a paramedic, and a U.S. Marshal) it’s been a long time since I read them and I want to reread each of them soon

I wanna read once upon a broken heart...is it worth it
i should actually prob be reading… dont be in love bc i heard it really good and read picking daisiess
It is so worth it! It is one of my all time favorites I didn’t read Caraval first (which is same universe and takes place before) and no matter what people say you don’t need to. I adore the books and the characters
