Excellent review, Fran!! The books sounded quite lovely at first, but after doing a bit of research, I think I'll pass. We would have had relatives on the East Coast at the time - Acadian relatives - and I don't think I could read about them being banished from their homes for a refusal to sign an obviously biased, crooked oath of allegiance to the British. I'm sure I'd find it upsetting.

Jodi....Thank you for your comment. Before reading this book, my knowledge of Acadia was limited to the beautiful Cajun music and culture of Louisiana. I had no historical context. I understand why you would find this read troubling.🥰📚🎈
