The Housemaid earned two stars from me. Sometimes I get FOMO when an author is hot but I will also hop right off that bandwagon when the author doesn’t work for me! Great review!

Thank you Jayme. I think it is time for me to hop off! 🫤
I can see where you’re coming from, though I love this book and the darkness in it. It’s interesting how books can stir different emotions in each reader. But that’s the beauty of literature, isn’t it? It’s subjective and open to individual interpretation. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Karen! It’s always enlightening to see a different perspective.

I agree Dusk, it is all about perspective. We each have our own, and that is the beauty of conversation and sharing and appreciation here. Thank you for honoring those differences! I appreciate you! 🥰
This is my third Freida McFadden book… in five days. They’re fast to read. I just started this one, but what I’ve learned is that whoever you’re suspecting, you’re wrong. Like you say, you need the reveal at the very end. I think the books are really about the lies people project about themselves. That’s why you can’t figure out who did it, because there’s always someone more deceitful

I'm glad you enjoy her Dan. Obviously my LFL library books of hers go out fast, too! ☺️
Here’s my take on Freida books. I kind of hate them but still read them. I just listened to two, including this one, while on long drives this week. They keep my interest. But I know the end will be a completely ridiculous twist. No foreshadowing to allow it to make sense. Cheap tricks. Not what I would consider good writing. But popcorn thrillers are like B movies that are crap but also mindless entertainment.
