Today I encountered a person who's very much like Helen Gurley Brown. (To my perception, at least.)
Admittedly, I felt uncomfortable reading about her. "Harrowing" would not be too extreme a term for my reaction to this supremely self-absorbed person.
Yet there are others, as in the person I encountered today. Yet one more reason to be grateful to Laura Shapiro for having written this unflinching book.
